Save to the m3u playlist files from usb flash drive to the Mag. 254

How do I save and copy the m3u playlist files from usb flash drive to the Mag. 254.

When I add all the m3u files on my flash drive add as favorites on Mag. 254 and unplug usb flash drive.
It is not there to view when I go in to favorites. So can't the playlists from m3u be viewed without having the usb to be plugged into the Mag. 254 all the time continuously?
