"DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jimmie Johnson, who had crashed in the past six Advance Auto Parts Clash races at Daytona International Speedway, found a way to win the 2019 version of the season-opening exhibition race—by helping to trigger a wreck that eliminated nearly everyone else.

Moments before a rainstorm halted the action and ultimately made the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race official after 59 of 75 scheduled laps, Johnson—running second on Lap 56—pulled to the inside of leader Paul Menard, who moved down the track slightly as Johnson was attempting a close side-draft.

Contact between the cars in Turn 3 sent Menard spinning and caused a massive pileup behind him, damaging 17 of the 20 cars to varying degrees. Johnson took the lead in his No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet and was declared the winner after NASCAR red-flagged the race because of rain for the third time."...! ;)

The Clash at Daytona was one damn boring race. Single file almost the whole race and no one making a move.
And rain delays.

I have to agree that Jimmie was aggressive with that 'side-draft' move, but ummmmmm rain was looming again and he wanted that spot out front.
And in fact race was cut short due to rain.

I not a Jimmie band wagon kinda guy, but this win, no matter how gotten, was great to see outta Jimmie :)

Look out 'King' Petty... here comes Jimmie !

BTW, I despise Petty more the I like Jimmie :)

Up-date, it won't even Open from Nascar dot com...! On Their Home Page on the Left Side One can see "Props Challenge" but it won't Open all the way...! It Starts and One can see it trying then it goes to White Screen...! :mad:

Superbook USA has released odds for the 2019 Daytona 500 and three Ford drivers are listed as favorites. Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano -- all Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series champions -- are 8/1 to take the checkered flag on Sunday.

William Byron is on the pole and sits at 40/1 alongside last year's Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon. The No. 3 driver was also 40/1 when he took the checkered flag ahead of Bubba Wallace last season. Wallace is 80/1 to win this year.
