No you don't need a Smart TV since these boxes make it a Smart TV.

Thank you very much. I a, reading reading reading.
I do like sports cars. Don't need it can't afford it and can drive it fast enough but I still like them!!!!

I would like to figure out, if possible how to record a whole movie or event without spinning and dropping the channel. Any ideas. current running box is 4900.

I only can afford one connection so that probably limits me greatly. Can I record and not be watching the channel ?
Really, would adding another service be better? Is the dropping and spinning my box or my service provider, or something else.

    Thank you.

spinning and dropping is server related not the buzz box. you need more than 1 connection in order to record one channel and watch another channel at same time.

Most of time the wheel spinning is you check your router reboot it .Now if it doing that let say at 7:00 everyday it your internet provider. Dont get me wrong its server sometimes too but for most part its your setup. Thiers post her somewhere how setup your router check that out. Think under dns something like 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 i just don't remember. They said that helps check it out. One thing i got ask how fast are you that a real big deal .
