so, I had a few gmail accounts just hanging around and not used in some time. So I wanted to delete them.
You know, get off of Google's email data base.

I should have known better thou. They never let you off.

Here is what I was confronted with...
I had 5 gmail active accounts and wanted 3 of them completely permanently deleted. If you online search how to do that, the results are all the same.
There is a step involved that you NEED to add an alternative email which is not a Gmail ... that is so they can send an email to that with a verifacation code and so on...
okay so I think i will now need to aquire a free email secure account from some onlie service. SoI do that and send Gmail that email addy.
Okay fine. The deletion of that google account goes forward.
But it is still there after all is completed, it is now showing as that new email service I sent them, in other words I can still log on to google and all services with that account but only thing is that it would show as my new email... grrrrrr... meaning google still knows.
And at onset of this operation, google stated that deleted emails and downloads could be retrieved (meaning that they had them in a data base no matter if thought to have been deleted)

so.. I go to next gmail account I want to delete and when it asks for alternative email I give it that same one from last but it tells me I can't use that one cause it is in use on google for this same purpose.

So I go back and create a new free email addy and guess what? They ask for an email to send code to but can not be one of their email addys, which means I can not use same one !!!
So i gave them a google one which I had and then got that working and got code.
But I still have that google one and the others that are simply now showing my new email but are still accessed by google !

It is FUBAR !!
Inherently setup so as to never allow someone to get out of the clutches !!!

Yup, is same process I went thru.
I had a few ytube videos loaded under one account and plus a gmail account under the same name. I used that same process as outlined and did get the videos and the gmail account deleted, but the thing is that you need to have another email (besides a gmail addy) so gmail can then send a deletion confirmation notice to that new email AND then they also keep your google account alive but less the videos and mail ... and also they show the new email on your old account, instead of old the gamil addy which was there.

So you see what I mean? They not only still have you as a account holder no matter how hard you try and get away... but now they also have your new email addy. And if you had multiple gmail/google accounts then you'd need to create a new email for each one and not a gmail addy either.
So it ends up that you have multiple 'other' email addys just to delete the gmail/google addys.
What I did was create the needed amount of email addys with each labeled as ...
delete1gmail @XXXX
delete2gmail @XXXX
delete3gmail @XXXX
and etc....

I used each of them only for the purpose of deleting the gmail/google accounts.
Then I created another email thru secure server and that is not linked to google. Thats my main email now.
Next I need to attempt to maybe delete them 'new' emails (that were used to delete the google accounts) so they are off the books (so to speak) ,.
That should be a treat :)

Even if I do that, google still has my original sign in info,
So as we say, they will never let you go... they just send you in circles for awhile till eventually we see that its frigging impossible to get away totallly

FYI...
You are, "probably", forgetting the most important bit of metadata that is attached to every request/msg. you are sending.
Your IP address and your NIC's MAC address!

If you are using the same device and/or location to perform these actions, these "Links" are keeping you associated.
Use a public location and another device, to get a confirmation to an anonymous email acct.

*Of course, the 1st time you use a device, ...they've got you!
