Thanks. Are you saying that the epg url as given above should be entered as such when setting up the perfect player? This would be under perfect player/settings/general/epg (url or file path)?

terry needs to give us the path ... or track that down thru that zip file
Or use terry's work and post that thru your own host and use that url

ok, my english language is limitedI will try to explain it:
the link is placed in the app they use
it is not necessary to unzip
all android recognize and decompress the zip file by itself without moving anything,
even with windows using progtv is used in zip


I put it in zip to not spend bandwidth, the normal file size is 16 mb, compressed is 2 mb,
that way the bandwidth is lower

el link se pone como se los pase
todos los android reconocen y descomprimen el achivo zip por si solos sin mover nada, incluso con windows usando progtv se usa en zip
lo puse en zip para no gastar ancho de banda, el tamaño del archivo normal es de 16 mb, comprimido es de 2 mb, de esa forma al ancho de banda es menor

Rebrandly links for a "free" account, will stop at 5000 access's per month, then will stop redirecting.

alternate EPG is available from the Provider.
Use;

Great guide Terry.
* If you save the file using gzip, all applications (including Kodi) can access the data.
instead of link to epg.zip with compressed file epg.xml, you will post a link to epg.xml.gz.

In Stalker settings, if you set EPG source to "Prefer Provider", it will try to get Providers guide first, and if there is a problem, will get the XMLTV source (if one is entered).
If you set to "Prefer XMLTV", it will try the alternate source you enter in the Remote URL, and if unsuccessful, will try the Providers guide.

**Disable PVR Stalker
in Portal settings;
-Set to Prefer XMLTV
-Set to Remote URL:

Save settings by clicking OK *(Do not Enable Stalker yet)

Go to System Settings/PVR&LiveTV/General tab

There is a setting which downloads the provider epg automatically, so maybe I what have now is the provider epg. channels start from zero and there are no groups. i would like to have an epg like in stbemu where I have a sports category/group. also there was a VOD section, now I do not see where the VOD has gone,
I will try with perfect player and if that works I can use PP for watching and iptv extreme for the occasional recording only.
so, what should I try to get an epg with groups?

I think you are assuming the problem you are having, relates to the EPG.
Categories or Channel groups are specified on the Playlist, not the EPG.

Do you have a MAC# linked to your Account (from the stbEmu app)?
Extreme & PP use m3u playlist or XC access to connect to the Servers.
*(so remove the MAC# on your Account)

By default PP Hides the EPG data. To see the EPG. if using a mouse, at the top of the left of screen Channel list, and on the right side of the Genre (All Channels, Entertainment etc) click the small square icon (submenu). Click EPG Show EPG.
If using a remote, with channel list showing, press menu (≡) on remote, or press and hold OK until the submenu appears, then select Show EPG.
*Same procedure is required to see the VOD Additional Info, when you switch to VOD, from IPTV.

Easiest is use the settings template system(if you are computer savy)

Sounds like you are loading the m3u file, instead of logging in with XC.

Using m3u will load the complete TV/VOD playlist as TV channels (~12000 channels).
Using XC will set the VOD in separate playlist from TV (~900 channels)

You can use this for EPG1(select it as XMLTV format):
