Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the vintage racing car which features in the book, musical film and stage production of the same name.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2f/Chitty_Chitty_Bang_Bang_car.jpg/1024px-Chitty_Chitty_Bang_Bang_car.jpg

This car was designed by the film's production designer, Ken Adam, and cartoonist and sculptor Frederick Rowland Emett, built by Alan Mann Racing in Hertfordshire in 1967, fitted with a Ford 3000 V6 engine and automatic transmission and allocated a genuine UK registration. This car was privately owned by Pierre Picton of Stratford-upon-Avon from the early 1970s until May 2011.[1] Actor Dick van Dyke, who drove the car in the film, said that "the car was a little difficult to maneuver, with the turning radius of a battleship".

1918 Pierce-Arrow 7 Passenger Touring Car :

http://www.pierce-arrow.com/Websites/piercearrow/images/seven_passenger.png

Six Cylinder / 48.6 Horsepower
825 Cubic Inches
Four Forward Speeds / One Reverse
142” Wheelbase

The introduction of the 7-Passenger Touring Car furthered Pierce-Arrow’s reputation as America’s leading luxury brand of automobiles. The 7-Passenger 5 Series featured a larger engine, improved gas mileage, and a higher top speed, without forfeiting luxury and comfort. Billed as a “hill climber,” the Touring was ideal for drivers and passengers who enjoyed scenic drives through back roads and winding countrysides.

The automobile was also designed with new traffic patterns in mind. Pierce-Arrow built the engine to shift gears less frequently, which allowed the driver to focus on the car’s superior performance.

It had a four-speed toploader manual transmission. FACTS ABOUT THE KOACH:
The Koach was made from 3 Model T bodies and is 18 feet long.
The 133" frame was made by hand.
It has a four speed manual transmission and a power rear end.
The brass radiator and fenders were hand formed.
In 1964, the cost to build the first one was $18,000.00.
It had "blood red" velvet interior.
It took 500 hours to hand form the ornate rolled steel scrollwork.
It had Gloss Black Pearl paint.
The front end had a dropped axle, split radius rods and T springs.
The studio gave George Barris 21 days to complete the car.

'57 Chevy Nomad Wagon...

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1a/1957_Chevrolet_Nomad.jpg

"The 1957 Chevrolets did not have an oil pressure gauge or a voltmeter.[3] The base engine was an inline 6-cylinder called the Blue Flame Six. The engine was smoother running than the V-8. Carburetion came from a single one-barrel carburetor.
For 1957 there were four standard engine options, a 235.5 cu in (3,859 cc) inline 6-cylinder producing 140 hp (104 kW), a 265 cu in (4,340 cc) V8 "Turbo-Fire" producing 162 hp (121 kW), and two 283 cu in (4,640 cc) V8s: a "Turbo-Fire" twin-barrel carburetor producing 185 hp (138 kW) and a "Super "Turbo-Fire" four-barrel carburetor developing 220 hp (164 kW).[5]

Another optional engine was offered with two four barrel carburetors, the legendary "Duntov" cam and solid lifters. This engine produced 270 hp. 1957 was the first year that Chevrolet ever offered fuel injection as an option. A 283 cu in (4,640 cc) engine fitted with solid lifters, the "Duntov" cam and fuel injection was rated at 283 hp (211 kW).[6] This was the first time in history that a General Motors vehicle achieved 1-hp-per-cu-in in a production vehicle. Fuel injection continued as an option throughout the early 1960s. However, most mechanics of the time didn't have the experience to keep the units running properly. This prompted most buyers to opt for conventional carburetion.'...!

Chevrolet El Camino is a coupé utility vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959–60 and 1964–1987. Unlike a pickup truck, the El Camino was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body.

Introduced in the 1959 model year in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero coupé utility, its first run lasted only two years. Production resumed for the 1964–1977 model years based on the Chevelle platform, and continued for the 1978–1987 model years based on the GM G-body platform.

Although based on corresponding General Motors car lines, the vehicle is classified and titled in North America as a truck. GMC's badge engineered El Camino variant, the Sprint, was introduced for the 1971 model year. Renamed Caballero in 1978, it was also produced through the 1987 model year.

The Oldsmobile Toronado is a personal luxury car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors from 1966 to 1992. Designed to transcend Ford Thunderbird and GM's own Buick Riviera, with its all new transaxle version of GM's Turbohydramatic transmission the Toronado is historically significant as the first U.S.-produced front-wheel drive automobile since the demise of the Cord in 1937.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b9/66Toronado.jpg/1920px-66Toronado.jpg

What a Machine...! "At its debut, the Toronado featured such GM innovations as:

Heavy-duty Turbo-Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission (named THM425 in FWD form)
Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor
Spherical shaped exhaust-manifold flange gaskets, which provided freedom of movement in the exhaust system and prevented leaks
"Draft-Free" ventilation system, which reduced wind noise considerably by eliminating conventional front-door triangular window vents.

Firestone designed an 8.85" x 15" tire especially for the Toronado called the TFD (Toronado-Front-Drive) tire. It had a stiffer sidewall than normal, and the tread and stylishly thin white pin-stripe were also unique.

Oldsmobile engineers selected a conventional, though performance-boosted, Olds 425 cu in (7 L) Super Rocket V8 rated at 385 hp (287 kW) and 475 ft⋅lb (644 N⋅m) of torque. It was an increase of 10 hp (7.5 kW) over the Starfire 425, and an increase of 20 hp (15 kW) over the standard 425 engine in the Ninety-Eight. The Toronado intake manifold's unique shape was depressed to allow for engine hood clearance."

From the Cannibal movie.
1969 Lincoln Mark III

The first generation of the Mark series, the Mark III was marketed as the flagship vehicle of Ford Motor Company, serving as a successor to the 1956-1957 Continental Mark II.

All examples of the Mark III were produced as two-door hardtop coupes. To lower development costs, the Mark III was based upon an existing vehicle platform, sharing its chassis underpinnings with the Ford Thunderbird. To distinguish itself from the Thunderbird (and from the Lincoln Continental), the Mark III was given model-specific design elements, including hidden headlamps (with body-color covers), a radiator-style grille, and a simulated spare tire on the trunk-lid.

With a little Tweaking could look like this :

http://riotfest.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Vacation_006Pyxurz-1024x720.jpg

The Wagon Queen Family Truckster station wagon was created specifically for the film. It is based on a 1979 Ford LTD Country Squire station wagon.[10] The car was designed by George Barris, and it lampooned American cars of the late 1970s. The Truckster features a pale avocado metallic green paint scheme; extensive imitation wood-paneling decals; eight headlights (the second pair was taken from another Crown Victoria/Country Squire and mounted upside-down below the stock pair); a grille area largely covered by bodywork with only two small openings close to the bumper; an oddly-placed fuel filler door; and an airbag made from a trashcan liner.[11]

In the 2015 film Vacation (a sequel to the original), the Wagon Queen Family Truckster reappears at the bed-and-breakfast garage of Clark and Ellen Griswold. The Truckster used in this later film is the creation of Lisa and Steve Griswold, a real-life family living in Atlanta, who created the replica wagon to take family trips with their two daughters. In July 2014, the real-life Griswolds drove across the United States, visiting the locations seen in the original film, and ended their journey on the 31st anniversary of the film at Walley World (Six Flags Magic Mountain), so they could ride the Colossus before Six Flags' planned closure of the roller coaster.[12] Engine performance, even with the larger available 351 V8, both in terms of acceleration and fuel economy. Getting full size cars to simultaneously address both CAFE standards as well as customer expectations for performance was a big challenge.

"Originally, the M4S—commonly known now as the Turbo Interceptor—was a Dodge supercar concept that put out more than 440 hp, until experts from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini were called in. The result was groundbreaking: not only did it have 800 hp from its mid-engined 2.2 liter turbo 4 cylinder, it pioneered a twin turbo setup later adopted by the Porsche 959 and Toyota Supra, among others."...!

Capable of 0-60 in just over four seconds en route to a top speed near 185 mph, the car nearly killed the stunt driver when it first appeared on the set of The Wraith. Two other prototypes were toned down for the sake of the film.

"The DeLorean DMC-12 (commonly referred to simply as "the DeLorean", as it was the only model ever produced by the company) is a sports car originally manufactured by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company for the American market from 1981 to 1983. The car features gull-wing doors and an innovative fiberglass body structure with a steel backbone chassis, along with external brushed stainless-steel body panels. DeLorean's comparison literature noted that the DMC-12 could achieve 0–60 miles per hour (0–97 km/h) in 8.8 seconds, when equipped with a manual transmission. When equipped with an automatic transmission, the DeLorean would accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (0 to 97 km/h) in 10.5 seconds as tested by Road & Track magazine. The car's top speed is 110 miles per hour (177 km/h). The engine is a Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) 2.85-litre V6, which produced about 130 horsepower (97 kW), that was designed and built under special contract with the DMC Company. These PRV engines were a development of the 2.7-litre V6 in the Renault 30 and were built in the PRV Factory in Douvrin, Northern France. The gearbox, also designed by PRV, was built at the Renault facility near Caen in Normandy. The engines and gearboxes were shipped weekly by sea from the PRV factories to the DMC factory."

1968 Ford Bullitt Mustang GT 390 Fastback Steve McQueen Movie Car

http://bullitt-mustang.com/images/bullitt-clip.jpg

The Mustang had been around since 1964 and immediately made its film debut in James Bond Goldfinger. It soon had the Shelby treatment to produce the GT350 model and a fastback design. The models, 2 off, used for the Bullitt was the big block 1968 GT390 Fastback with a few modifications. Apart from the dark green color the most noticeable was the lack of any badges including the front mustang and corral. Wheels were 15 inch x 6 inch American Racing Torq-Thrust D mags with dark spokes. Interior was also black with a custom steering wheel.

http://bullitt-mustang.com/images/1968-mustang-bullitt-grille.jpg

1968 Bullitt Mustang Original Cars

To be precise there were two 1968 Mustang GT 390's used in the filming of Bullitt. Although rumours to the contrary persist, they were supplied by Ford Motor Company as back-to-back serial numbers that can be identified as 325 horse powered, big block four speed manual transmission mustangs. Suspension was beefed up and Koni adjustable shocks added. To get the awesome soundtrack the transverse muffler was replaced with straight pipes.

The Mustang Boss 302 is a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang originally produced by Ford in 1969 and 1970, alongside its more powerful sibling the Boss 429 Mustang. Ford revived the name for another two year production run in 2012 and 2013.

Look Familiar...?!?
http://www.musclecarbabes.com/1970_boss_302_mustang_003.jpg

The Camaro/Mustang rivalry had begun in 1967 with the introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro by General Motors. The Camaro was the largest threat to the lead Ford had in the "pony car" field, a market segment largely created by Ford with the introduction of the Mustang in mid-year 1964. The performance of the Mustang with 289 and 390 engines was not up to the Camaro, with its small block and big block V8. In an effort to improve the Mustang's image Ford made a 428 Cobra Jet V8 and a Ford Boss 302 engine optional for the 1968 mid-year and 1969 models, respectively.

"Since it was introduced four months before the normal start of the 1965 production year and manufactured alongside 1964 Ford Falcons and 1964 Mercury Comets, the earliest Mustangs are widely referred to as the 1964½ model.[19] Nevertheless, all "1964½" cars were given 1965 U.S. standard VINs at the time of production, and - with limited exception to the earliest of promotional materials[20] - were marketed by Ford as 1965 models."

"The low-end model hardtop used a "U-code" 170 cu in (2.8 L) straight-6 engine[22] borrowed from the Falcon, as well as a three-speed manual transmission and retailed for US$2,368. Standard equipment for the early 1965 Mustangs included black front seat belts, a glove box light, and a padded dash board.[23] Production began in March 1964 and official introduction following on April 17 at the 1964 World's Fair. V8 models got a badge on the front fender that spelled out the engine's cubic inch displacement ("260" or "289") over a wide "V." This emblem was identical to the one on the 1964 Fairlane."

The 1953 model year was not only the Corvette's first production year, but at 300 produced it was also the lowest-volume Corvette.
Origin 1951...
Earl convinced GM that they needed to build a two-seat sports car, and with his Special Projects crew began working on the new car, "Project Opel" in late 1951.[5] The result was the hand-built, EX-122 pre-production Corvette prototype, which was first shown to the public at the 1953 General Motors Motorama at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on January 17, 1953. Production began six months later. The car is now located at the Kerbeck Corvette museum in Atlantic City and is believed to be the oldest Corvette in existence.

The Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the Corvette sports car produced by Chevrolet. It was introduced late in the 1953 model year, and produced through 1962. It is commonly referred to as the "solid-axle" generation, as the independent rear suspension did not appear until the 1963 Sting Ray.

https://kerbeck.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/EX1221953.jpg

The engine was a 235 cu in (3.85 L) inline six engine[7] that was similar to the 235 engine that powered all other Chevrolet car models, but with a higher-compression ratio, three Carter side-draft carburetors, mechanical lifters, and a higher-lift camshaft. Output was 150 horsepower (110 kilowatts). Because there was currently no manual transmission available to Chevrolet rated to handle 150 HP, a two-speed Powerglide automatic was used. 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) time was 11.5 seconds.

The Nash-Healey is a two-seat sports car that was produced for the American market between 1951 and 1954. Marketed by Nash-Kelvinator Corporation with the Nash Ambassador drivetrain and a European chassis and body, it served as a halo (or image) vehicle, or flagship car, for the automaker to promote the sales of the other Nash models. It was "America's first post-war sports car",[2] and the first introduced in the U.S. by a major automaker since the Great Depression.[3] The Nash-Healey was the product of the partnership between Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and British automaker Donald Healey. Later on, the car was restyled by Pinin Farina and subassembly began in Italy.

A racing version, built with a spartan aluminum body, finished third in the 1952 Le Mans 24-hour race.

My 1st used car I purchased was a true 1964 1/2 Mustang(Post #57
(I didn't know squat about versions etc.)
It had the straight 6 and 3sp manual transmission.
It had manual(no power assist) drum brakes, and manual steering.
4 bolt hubs and axles.
No backup lighting.
You could start the ignition then remove the key and drive.
I paid $350.00

If I would have kept the car, I could have sold it today for close to $30,000
Instead, I put in over $20,000 hot rodding it (Tilt front end, 9" Detroit Locker Susp., 450hp 289ci etc. etc.)
Then sold it 5 years later for $5000
... no regrets.

This 1962 Vette was featured in that Show...! "George Maharis reported in a 1986 Nick at Nite interview that people often ask him about "the red Corvette." According to Maharis, the Corvette was never red. It was light blue the first season, and fawn beige for the second and third seasons. Both colors were chosen to photograph well in black and white, but the show's cinematographer complained that the powder blue car reflected too much light. The Corvette was replaced with a newer model annually by the series' sponsor, General Motors, but the show itself never mentioned or explained this technicality."

1962 models were all one color.

Under the hood is the bulletproof 327-cubic-inch V-8 engine that delivers 300 horsepower through a four-speed manual transmission to propel the 2,925-pound fiberglass Corvette on a 102-inch wheelbase.

Records indicate that of the 14,542 Corvettes built that model year, this one was an early one at number 923. The actual build date is October 3, 1961, and the base price when new was $4,038.

The top option was the 370 hp (280 kW) Ram Air IV, which featured special header-like high-flow exhaust manifolds, high-flow cylinder heads, a specific high-rise aluminum intake manifold, larger Rochester QuadraJet four-barrel carburetor, high-lift/long-duration camshaft, plus various internal components capable of withstanding higher engine speeds and power output. Unlike the highest RPM big-block Chevy and Hemi engines, the Ram Air IV utilized hydraulic lifters."

1946 Chevy Panel Truck

http://cdn.speednik.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2014/06/PanelTruck_3-640x426.jpghttp://cdn.speednik.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2014/06/PanelTruck_4-640x426.jpg

It isn’t fast and it isn’t show-ready, but this barn-found ’46 Chevy from West Jordan, Utah has an undeniable appeal as the sort of vehicle that takes you back to a different time. With its tapered hood, curvy exterior, and rough-and-tumble demeanor–this old workhorse has all the patina-clad character you could ask for from a panel truck.

Apparently, it was originally a two-tone vehicle with a green body and black fenders. A.J. French purchased the vehicle in 1947 (the title for which still exists today) and turned it into his shop truck, painting over the green shade with a maroon red and adding the details of his business on the body.

After the business closed up sometime in the 60s, the truck was moved to a garage near French’s residence and left to sit for twenty years before being sold and shipped down to Utah. From there, the eBay seller claims a friend of his bought the truck, which was immediately sold to the current seller. After so much neglect, the Chevy was given lots of maintenance, including new oil–which hadn’t been changed in decades–new pushrods, a new condenser, and new set of spark plugs for its straight-6 216 motor.

Other than that, it seems this brash Bowtie has kept everything else intact, from its patina to its interior.

The "300S" was a three-carburetor edition, but in 1952 great interest was aroused by the almost invincible performance in sports-car racing of a team of prototype cars of extremely advanced and interesting design. By 1954 these had undergone sufficient development to be placed on the market as the "300SL", one of the costliest and most desirable cars of our time. The conventional chassis has been abandoned on favor of a complex structure of welded tubes,[80] although the coil spring suspension is retained, and exceptionally large brakes are fitted, inboard at the rear. The engine is sharply inclined to the near-side in the interests of a low bonnet-line, and with Bosch fuel injection produces 240 b.h.p. at 6,000 r.p.m. Claimed maximum speed is in excess of 160 m.p.h. and although the car is by no means small, dry weight has been kept to 23 cwt. The depth of the multi-tubular frame prevents the use of conventional side-hinged doors and these cars are fitted with the roof-hinged "gull-wing" doors which characterize an exceedingly handsome and practical car. An open touring version is available. In competition the "300SL" has become a powerful contender, and abetted by the success of the Grand Prix cars [and "300 SLR"] has captured a substantial portion of the export market."

2018 Copo Camaro
Choice of three engines.
The naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V8 and supercharged 5.7-liter V8 from last year return, alongside an all new entry -- a 5.0-liter V8 built for high revs. The latter is based off the LT1 V8 in the 2018 Camaro SS, but it features a shorter-stroke crankshaft among other mods. No matter the engine, power is sent through a three-speed automatic transmission before reaching the rear wheels.

Opt for the supercharged 5.7-liter engine, and the COPO Camaro will be capable of quarter-mile runs in the mid-8-second range with trap speeds nearing 160 mph. There's a very good reason these cars aren't street legal.

This :
"Named after the British racing driver of the same name, the SLR Stirling Moss is a limited edition (75 vehicles) of the series, which uses a speedster styling that does not include roof or windscreen. The design is inspired by the 300 SLR race car, and the exterior was designed by Korean designer Yoon Il-hun, the interior by Dutch designer Sarkis Benliyan. It was to be the last series of the McLaren SLR built under the partnership between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren, until McLaren announced their own final edition of the SLR in late 2010.

The supercharged V8 engine is rated 650 PS (480 kW; 640 hp). The car's top speed is 350 km/h (220 mph) with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds. The car is approximately 200 kg (440 lb) lighter than the regular model. Would have been Me Next Choice...!

The SLS AMG Electric Drive is a limited edition electric version of the SLS AMG released in June 2013.[83] The production vehicle was unveiled in 2012 Paris Motor Show, with market launch initially scheduled for June 2013.[84][85] Pricing in Germany began at €416,500 (~ US$544,236).[86] Fewer than 100 units were sold.[87]
History

Following the SLS AMG E-CELL prototype premiere, the production of SLS AMG E-CELL was originally announced in 2011 North American International Auto Show.[88]

The production version of SLS AMG E-CELL included four synchronous electric motors rated 392 kW (533 PS; 526 hp) and 880 N⋅m (649 lb⋅ft), 400V 48 kWh lithium-ion battery from Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains (formerly Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines) rated 480 kW (653 PS; 644 hp), woven CFRP battery monocoque, independent multi-link suspension with pushrod damper struts, 402 x 39 mm front and 360 x 32 mm rear brake discs made in carbon fibre-strengthened ceramic.[89]

Guess THAT is OK then as You Requested This :

I am thinking Of a car
Someone mentioned about my favorite car of all times Well that would be the 66 vet
But I am thinking of a car, there are some special reasons I choose this car
These reason will be reviled in the hints
What I need from you is the Year, make , model and the performance package that makes this car so special

yes he gave me exactly what I ask for Year 2013, make chev, model camero, sports package Copo that makes this car special

FYI For Your Information was not ask for just the Year, make , model and the performance package
FYI there where a few have the Gas Monkey Garage and come with no motor, transmission, or rear end

I believe there where only 69 made and of then 69 20 where painted white and when to the grease monkey garage to have there suspension and sold for drag racing

What really make this car special is my son bought one from the grease monkey for drag racing, now who ever would have guessed that is what makes it so special to me Only 1 strip left looks like everything is going to be real close

Well...I guess I sort of know you, but not!
(*This is very weird!!)

I guessed twice.
1st guess - The original 1969 Camaro COPO
2nd guess - The new 2018 Camaro COPO
(* they only make 69 because original was released in 1969)

Why would I guess only COPO Camaro???

I don't know You!
I am not a Camaro guy nor have I owned one!
You're Hints are pretty much worthless (ie; unrelated to actual vehicle (No Offence intended))

Maybe I should start buying Lottery Tickets!

yes you did guess those 2 but i specifically ask for a year that year was 2013
not only Camaro copo ,2013 Camero copo was the correct answer
in your post I did not see 2013, also the2018 was disqualified as you can only make 1 guess every 12 hr not2 guesses in one post
and yes my hints start off very general but the longer the raffle lasts the more specific my hints get

also both your guess are missing the Make chev

Hints were fine.
Raffle guidelines were plainly posted.

I have asked Farmer to make these raffles extend as long as he can.
I did that so Buzz gets more advertising time with their name posted up top of our forums in these Raffle threads.
I did same for Dreamlink raffles.

Farmer has a lot on his plate and for him to make a raffle last as long as possible and still give hints is a heck of an undertaking. And I thnx you Farmer for doing a fantastic job at that :)

How can anyone see them hints as worthless?? :eek

1 Sports package --- its not Aunt betsy's Toyato Corrola !
2 By no means is this car meant to be a family car --- that alone narrows it down probably by half.
3 This care is built after 2000 --- another hint that cuts it down alot.

If anyone wants to dispute anything at all, then message me or Farmer about it.
This raffle was done fairly and correctly.

More on the COPO Camaro for People that don't know what They are :

COPO 427s

A GM corporate edict forbade Chevrolet from installing engines larger than 400 cu in (6.6 l). Requests from dealers (notably Don Yenko) who were dealer-installing 427 cu in (7.0 l) engines in the Camaro caused Chevrolet to use an ordering process usually used on fleet and special orders (taxis, trucks, etc.) to offer 427 engines in the Camaro. Two Central Office Production Orders (COPO), numbers 9560 and 9561, were offered in the 1969 model year.[15]

The COPO 9561 used the solid-lifter L72 big-block engine, making an underrated 425 hp (317 kW) gross. Yenko ordered 201 of these cars to create the now-legendary Yenko Camaro. Other dealers also became aware of the L72 engine package and ordered it. Around 900-1,000 Camaros were fitted with the L72 engine option.[16]

The COPO 9560 used an all-aluminum 427 cu in (7.0 L) big-block called the ZL-1 and was designed specifically for drag racing. The package was conceived by drag racer Dick Harrell, and ordered through Fred Gibb Chevrolet in La Harpe, IL, with the intention of entering NHRA Super Stock drag racing. A total of 69 ZL-1 Camaros were produced. The engine alone cost over US$4,000—more than the cost of a base V8 hardtop. Though rated at 430 hp (321 kW) gross, the ZL-1 made 376 SAE Net HP in its "as installed" state. With exhaust changes and some tuning, the horsepower jumped to over 500.[15]

The ZL1 engines were hand assembled in a process that took 16 hours each, in a room that Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov described as "surgically clean."[17] All ZL1 engines were manufactured at the Tonawanda Assembly Plant before being installed in Corvettes and Camaros, or sold over the counter to racers.[18]

Two of the 69 ZL-1's are known to have landed in Australia, with both owned by local motor racing legend and multi-millionaire tyre retailer Bob Jane, with both cars painted in Jane's team colour Sebring Orange. One of the Camaros was used by Jane for drag racing in Australia (Jane also owned the Calder Park Raceway with the main straight doubling as one of the country's premier drag racing strips). Jane drove the other Camaro to win the 1971 and 1972 Australian Touring Car Championships (the forerunner to today's V8 Supercars), though due to regulation changes restricting engines to a maximum cubic capacity of 6000 cc, Jane was forced to replace the 427 engine with a 350 in 1972. The ATCC winner, which holds the record for the largest capacity car to ever win the championship since it began in 1960. As of 2016, Jane owns his ATCC winning ZL-1, which after its touring car life was sold and used as a Sports Sedan and a drag racer before Jane bought it back and had the car restored to its 1971 specification. Despite his advancing years (approximately 86-87), Jane and the car continue to regularly appear at major historic meetings including the annual Australian Muscle Car Masters held each Fathers Day at the Sydney Motorsport Park.

COPO Camaro
The year 2012 also saw the relaunch of the COPO Camaro, based off the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. Designed as an homage to the 1969 car of the same name, the COPO Camaro is a factory-built NHRA Stock Eliminator. Only 69 COPOs were built[5] and purchasing opportunities were offered using a random selection process. The cars had three engine options: a naturally aspirated 427 and two supercharged 327 engines, and they had a 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission. At the 2012 SEMA show, Chevrolet Performance announced it would offer another 69 COPOs for the 2013 model year.
