PotatoTV Channel Renumbering Method

I have come up with an easy method for users to have the normal SID numbering, instead of the sequential 1, 2, 3 ...

This is an m3u Modified Playlist Template I made to Replace the Potato.m3u playlist that is generated for IPTV Simple Client, when PotatoTV is configured (PVR Client - Auto Settings).
* This one is for the NFPS Service, English only Channels and for the Viper 8690 Guide.


Stuufed Potato Template

You download the template, then use notepad or other text editor to find these terms;

Find: xportal Replace with: p1, p2, p3, p4, or p5
Find: xdonation Replace with: Your Donation#

Save as "anyname".m3u

* Now change the m3u playlist file that IPTV Simple client uses, to the new file.
- Start Kodi. Go to System settings /Addons /My addons /PVR Clients /IPTV Simple Client
- Disable, then Configure.
- Change m3u playlist location to new File.
- Save but dont Enable yet.
- Go to PVR/ LiveTV Settings and Clear Data Cache.
- Now go back to PVR and Enable.

I did this about a month ago so there are new channel mods since then, but it gives you an Idea as to how to modify PotatoTV for Channel Numbers.
Pass this along to CP. Should be a capable modification to his addon that can be incorporated in the next revision.

Do you do this in Note pad for every instance of Xportal? If so, this could take a while, as there are many instances in this M3u file where the Xportal/Donation combination shows up. Thank you.

Just saw this and Watched and I am Intrigued, will this work on the other servers also or just the one in the video...! I'm Hoping the others also so I can go to My Friends Place this weekend and set Her up thru Kodi...! TIA...!

Just FYI...
I will be releasing a new Video Add-on, based on CP's Potato TV, before the weekend.

*Note: You need to upgrade to the latest version of Kodi which is 17.6 (req'd for new renumbering method)

No matter if you are now using a MAC# or an m3u Playlist access method, you only need to select your Portal and enter your Donation#.
-The guide selection for now is my guide.
-Channel renumbering is done by the Add-on. (No more need for Custom m3u Playlists from Templates!)

This is an Initial release for feedback of basic functionality.
The full release will also add an interim Information Channel (#1), a more robust colored EPG Genres, and the main reason for making this Add-on, generating a .strm file for every file in VOD.
These strm files can be used like an actual Video file, which can be added to the Kodi Library and then "Scraped" for Metadata.
You will end up with a Video library that consists of Fanart, Video Trailer, Cast Bio's, Viewer Ratings etc., and numerous Sorting methods and movie "Set" Groupings (all 007, Star wars etc).

@ Me Friends Domain and Her Kodi Install can't bee Up-Graded to 17.6 with Her system...! Any other Alternative as She can't Afford a New STB...?!? TIA...!

PotatoTV is an outdated addon.
You should use IPTVXtra which is an offshoot of PotatoTV.
Install my Repository and install from there.
