New EPG Option -open discussion

Hi all,

Like most I've been looking for an option since ninja is no longer so I decided to spend some of my vacation working on it. I was able to get it going for most of the English Channels. I don't have any plans in the near future for the spanish channels nor will I do anything ever for adult channels so don't ask.

I have automated the process so hopefully there won't be any problems moving forward and I won't need to intervene and I can just work on getting a few channels fixed at a time. i made python scripts for this and I can release it to anyone who is interested in case they want to pick up and extend it.

I still have some more things that I need to do but for the most part it should work but bugs are sons of glitches so you never know. Currently I am using Schedules Direct Service as I have heard that it is pretty good and I did pay for a subscription but I DON'T want any donations please. The feed is set for 48 hours and I will run an update daily at 12 AM GMT.

It took me some time, so please appreciate it and don't complain or I will pull it and just leave it for myself. I have a full time job so I don't know how often I will be able to work on it (probably not a lot). Constructive criticism is welcome but like I mentioned, I don't know when I will be able to do any fixes.

In order to get the new EPG XML source using stalker client you just need to go to System->Add-ons->Stalker Client->Configure->Portal X(the one that you are using; usually 1)
3 things to ensure:

Guide->Preference->XMLTV Only or Prefer XMLTV


XMLTV->Scope->Remote URL


XMLTV->Remote URL->

I think the only way to map will be to backtrack on Sunday. See what's playing on NST 1 here and where that game is scheduled on DTV's guide and then what that channel's ID is on Schedule's Direct.

If you have it set-up correctly (XMLTV Only or Prefer XMLTV) and you have guide information, it is working for you. However, you may need to reload the guide to access the latest data pull.

System > Settings > TV > Guide > Clear Data (Yes)

It is off? I haven't looked at the time settings in Viper's XML, but I would think he has it set-up in UTC and your add-on should do the correction.

The problem is with the PVR. I know for sure 15.1 and 15.2 have problems with time correction. If you care to download the guide and do some simple editing, I will show you how to edit the guide to make up for the PVR's deficiency. It is something you would have to do with each new guide pull. The other option is to upgrade to Kodi 16.1. The PVR is corrected therein.

That stinks. Kyrpton runs alot faster than Jarvis on my FireTV.
Stalker Client 2.8.1 is what I'm using.

else in in Stalker Client alone and I get the epg back right?? Also in repositories ********** add-ons there is nothing there

Ok... Find out how far off the time is. What time does the program actually start and what time (in hours off) does the EPG show: Let me know this: EPG is 1 hour too early, EPG is 2 hour too early or EPG is 1 hour too late, EPG is 2 hour too late.

Look at Floder's post for the proper URL. He has the correct address. You have "11" where it should be "LL."

That is all you would need to do. You may have to reload the guide to kick things into gear, however.

System > Settings > TV > Guide > Clear data (Yes)

kind of odd, i`m using an M8 on the TV, also have the kodi controller on my ipad, on the ipad it shows the correct info and time for the channels, but not on the M8, channels are correct, but the time is way off

Make sure things are configured correctly. The slightest mistake and the guide won't populate.

Try reloading the guide to see i that helps...

VOD are not available from within PVR Stalker client. They are in NFPS and the IPTV Stalker Plus video add-on.

First, download Notepad++ for editing the guide xml file. (Well worth a donation.)

After Notepad++ is installed, download the guide.

Open the downloaded guide in Notepad++. Click on Search in the top menu. Choose Replace in the ensuing drop down menu. In the Find what: area put +0000 In the Replace with: area type -0100 Click Replace All. Save the guide. (By the way, make sure there are no spaces before or after the items you entered.)

Now, point PVR Stalker to wherever you want to place the guide for local access. (Choose Local and navigate the Local Path to the guide.) Make sure you Clear Guide data so PVR Stalker accesses the new path/guide.

System > Settings > TV > Guide > Clear data (Yes)

Are you running Windows or Android? Have you tried making sure you date and time is set correctly? You could try changing your local time to UTC -5 or whatever it should be for your time zone as another option.

A lot of people had problems with the video quality in 16.1 but they had acceleration on under video settings in Kodi. Once I turned that off in mine the quality was immediately better. Just an FYI.

Thanks for all the great work but so far i am one of the unlucky ones who has not been able to get this to work. It most likely due to my configuration and setup. i am using a Raspberry PI running a beta version of Libreelec v 7.90.009 which is an off shoot of openelec. This is running kodi 17 beta 6. I had an earlier version running the old ninja guide and it was working with out an issue, but since then i have not had a working guide. I am using stalker client v 2.8.1. I have gone through the setting and reset the DB many times and still nothing. I am using NFPS and all the channels load up but i don't the guide. When i do the reset I see all the channels scroll across the top as if its importing the data but the guide is still blank. Anyone have any ideas at what i could look at. Later tonight i am going to reinstall libreelec using the stable 7.0.02 running kodi 16.1 to see if that works and will report back.

Yea it is. My box works just cant get iptv. I slready did the settings in stalker client. Do i use 00:a1:78 or :79? Then the server address is the mw1. Prefer xmlt remoe is the yahyabell and signature and those slways workef. On iptv simple client remote path same as yayahbell same on epg settings

It sounds like you made a mistake somewhere in the configuration. Realize the Scope is Remote URL and the Remote URL is

Those last two characters before COM are LL's, not one's...YAHYABELL

it copied all my addons from 16.1 that was on there and installed it self along my 16.1 all work fine for both kodis except the guide on 17

Id been resigned to playing 'channel surfing potluck' since there was no guide….no way of telling when the EPL games etc were on.

This thing worked instantly for me…..now Ive got a guide…..granted it's not properly synced…..a program that says it will start at 5pm will actually start at 6pm….but i can live with that.

As far as I can tell from my abundant good looks and limited forensic's skills, PVR Stalker doesn't respect daylight savings time in Kodi 15.0 - 15.2. There is a way to download and edit the EPG file to correct for this, however, as I have demonstrated in another post.

just a few observations..
your adding your external mc2xml pull via whatver method you choose(i forget).whay dont you add it to your your first mc2xml pull that diesnt have a - I?

regarding schedules direct
they also have a edit lineup option when you login where you can enable/disable channels that you want to download.
its where your lineups are listed,just click on edit.
this does not solve the issue of having to remap the channels but you can get away with only using a .ren file rather than a .chl file also.it will also speed up the download(not that it slow) as it only sends the channels you enabled rather than them all filtering on the receiving end.
also i always founf it best to use the schedules direct/microsoft i.xx.microsoft.com id rather than the name(its a pita but i redid them all for you know who) as sometimes your dealing with so many different providers(also webgrab) that conflicts happens and thats why u cant figure out why data for some channels does not display.
also sometimes nfps has crazy characters in their names(like non-breaking space).there were many channels that i had to tell "you know who" to tell nfps to fix them.its fine as long as you know but pita if you dont.
what i use to do is turn debugging on in kodi and restart it.the kodi.log will have the channels names as loaded from the server.i would copy the name directly from there(with spaces) on the channesl that i could never get to show into the .ren file and they would appear after that.

also did you know you can use your sd user/pass with mc2xml for their json service(read on the mc2xml site for how).you only get 4 lineups with 6 changes/day if i remember right.there are separate from the lineups in you actual sd account you add via the web.
read on the mc2xml site on how to add/delete lineups on it.every request you do counts towards your six for the day so use them wisely.read mc2xml 5 times thyen 5 times again.
the json service sometime has data for channels that rovi doesnt.

this give you 4 lineups for sd,and 4 for international or north america(see mc2xml site for json countries) via the json service.

I don't combine in case something goes wrong. I'm not sure how the error handling is with mc2xml if the first feed failed. I figured that I have to edit the xml anyway by removing certain tags to shrink the file size anyway, so it's no big deal to add them. I also thought that maybe in the future I might use other programs like zap2it so just combining everything into 1 xml instead of relying on mc2xml to do it makes it more extensible. Plus I can get each feed by itself for debugging later on.

For getting the channels, there's an easier way to get them. Kodi uses a .db sqlite for storing the channels so you can download a program like sqlite browser to view the table of all the channels.

that program is webgabb+plus.i know its inside out.iptv simple client only import s the title,description,and genre from a guide xml.
webgrab has a post processor(happens after epg grabbing).with it you can do things like add year to end of title,add astors,directors to description.you name it it possible.
best thing is it can be run on mc2xml files also..well any xml in that case.

the one i use is called 'rex" and ir can re-arrainge/move/remove guide.xml elements quickly and easily.

You can always do a full pull and check it over after to see if it has the channels you want. Be ready to delete it shortly afterwards, though, because it could run upwards of 4 GIGS.

I'm sorry to be a bother but I'm having problems, again. I figure I must have something set up wrong. I'm using a fire stick with kodi 17 and I'm using the built in stalker client with my iptv66 sub. I got it to work the first time (12/15-12/17)by using the http://yahyabell.com. 3:30 came had to reload, I cleared my guide data came back the same, clear pvr data, kodi cache everything I thought I could do aside from a fresh start. I decided to go to the github address and I got it to work for the 17th-19th by downloading the zip file and using the zip file as a local path. I did that again today but it tells me guide won't load this time. I tried the yahyabell.com again and it kept coming up blank. I have no idea what I'm missing or doing wrong. Any ideas? Thank you!

Yes, it does. You need to disable IPTV Stalker Lite as you're configuring PVR Stalker client, though. You can't have both enabled at the same time.

In fact, I would disable both. Configure PVR Stalker client according to the directions below (other than the new address for the EPG). I would then shut down Kodi and do an IPTV Reset at your Donation Checker. Wait a good 15 minutes and then start Kodi and enable only PVR Stalker client.

A reload doesn't work if the guide is improperly configured, but if a dat reload is all that is necessary, it works nearly every time.

The guide does work with Krypton. When you copied your addons, if you copied all of them then you also got the pvr from 16 and that COULD be the problem. Check to see if that is the case and if so, delete that whole folder and restart KODI. See if that works for you.

I run an install on a Minix box and had the same problem. Go into system settings and change your time to UTC for where you live. I'm in EST so I changed to UTC -5. If you are unsure of your time zone, ask Google what is the where you live in UTC and use that.

If the guide works one day and not the next, the FIRST thing to do would be to look at github and see when was the last update. If the guide was updated 2 days ago, just keep checking until you see that it says updated an hour ago (or so) and then clear the guide data and it will repopulate. People should not be messing with their networks over a something as trivial as an epg. Just my opinion.

When this happens, more than likely the guide data has not been updated yet. Change the url and remove the raw.usercontent and get to the main github area for Viper and see when the last update was. If it says x hours ago, the guide should work. If it says 2 days ago, just wait for the update to happen.

Yes, this is a great guide. But if for any reason there is no guide data at some point, (such as it is in between updates) you can always use Ivue and at least you will know what is on. You needn't bother linking the channels or anything, just see what is on and then clode the guide and go back to your pvr and slick on that channel.

The most thorough guide data on Ivue seems to be Amy's List. Just an FYI as a backup.

I was able to get PVR stalker working but loads only 49 channels. Would that be issue on rocket side? Under Stalker Lite I get all channels.

Two things to check. On Kodi's home screen, bring up the menu and choose TV > Channels. Now, bring up the side menu. Make sure Group has All channels selected and not a subset.

If that is fine, reload the channels to see if it has an effect. System > Settings > TV > Channel > Clear data (Yes)

I'm not sure what the issue is based on the information. The PVR Stalker client in Kodi 15.2 should not have any issue. You'd need to spell out exactly when happens when it is configured correctly and it doesn't work.

In the meantime, you can put the EPG address in your browser's address bar. Wait until the EPG is fully loaded in the browser window and then save it. (I'd suggest saving it as guide.xml.) Get the guide.xml onto your device. Choose Local as scope and then poit to guide.xml as path.

Hello; I am using 16.1 Jarvis, and the Stalker Client in Kodi with Windows 7 and I have configured the guide, it works great in the Channels menu but; doesn't work at all in the Guide. I have deleted the guide data also. any suggestions?

You can just go to the link and save the page to xml. I have heard from some people that the newer beta does not work but I can't confirm that. If possible, give it a shot on another device with Kodi 16.1.

I think I have a few more channels than him but not sure on that. I also have mine in a link which you can setup in PVR Stalker Client so it will load automatically; last I heard you have to download his xml locally and direct PVR Stalker Client to use that. My guide is 48 Hours from midnight UTC of that day and expatter's is a 7 day.

There's also another option I saw on the forum that is pretty much the same as mine, but it also includes Spanish Channels. I have a long weekend so I think I'm going to try and add spanish channels but maybe there's no need.

Anyway, having more than 1 option to choose from is a good problem to have :)

Maybe try to set your cache to 24 hrs in PVR settings and in Kodi under System - Settings - TV - Guide and Update Interval is it set for 120 min?

Just started out of the blue i just changed my settings to what you suggested cache to 24 and update interval to 120 min i restarted kodi i have a guide now hopefully its all good usually after 4 pm eastern time is when i seem to lose data thank you aCiDjEsUs

If this happens again, just force a reload of the guide. It is an extra step, but it will get things back in working order most of the time.

System > Settings > TV > Guide > Clear data (Yes)

Newbie problems. yesterday I purchased my first donation and got everything up and running fairly quickly on kodi 15.2/pc. I ran across this thread and figured Id give it go, not only did it not work, but now I cant get the original epg to work again. Followed directions to the T to my knowledge.....spelling was correct "LL" and all was triple checked. help a dummy out plz

You configured according to the directions in the first post in this thread? Beyond the LL, check the rest of the spelling. There's not much there that should trip up the client. Do try reloading several times as well.

The original guide hasn't worked in well over a month.

sorry what I meant to say was that it would not load the channels after I went back to my original settings, guide never worked. Do I need to disable the client or anything before making the changes? Now I can't even get my channels to load so I'm just running straight off the stalker plus to watch. Thx

You can't have both IPTV Stalker Plus and the PVR enabled at the same time.

Try disabling both. Go to the Donation Checker and do an IPTV Reset. Wait a full 15 minutes. Do not enable, but configure the PVR. Once completed, enable it. It should load the channels if everything is configured properly.

finally got the epg guide to work on my box using kodi 15.2( using the rawgithub address rather than the yahyabell address) but what i found is my epg guide is an hour later than what is actually showing /now after downloading notepad just wondering do i replace 0000 with +0100 or -0100 and also do i need to download a new guide.xml every time i turn on my android box ? or is one pull enough going forward also what are my other options all help respected

You can download and do the +0000 to -0100 conversion, and yes, you will have to download and do the search and replace every time the guide updates. The other option is to upgrade to Kodi 16.1. The problem is endemic to 15.0 through 15.2, but is corrected in version 16.

Yes, thanks to all who played a part in getting this EPG to where it is today. Since purchasing this donation in early 2016 I'd used the Ninja EPG guide and was quite satisfied with it, despite its issues. However, as so many posters before me have pointed out, this EPG far exceeds Ninja's. Excellent job!! It makes me want to try my hand at customizing an EPG with only the channels I watch.

This is a large step forward for the EPG. I have some questions though. If the info is cached why does the guide go through its start up routine? Is this in the stalker code or just how Kodi works ? Is it possible to skin the EPG I for one am color blind and the EPG looks quite odd to me. Not bitching just asking.

so I got it all working on my work PC, thanks to all, this is awesome.
I did new install of KODI 17, setup my credentials, channels populate but guide does not.
I am getting stalker could not load guide. channels work, come in NP.
tried clearing data, both ways, tried re-installing, nothing.
any help would be appreciated.

Does everyone loose their EPG at some time during the day? I seem to loose it everyday at around 3pm (mountain time), it does come back the next day. I have tried resetting kodi, clearing the data in the General and Guide tabs in Kodi TV-Settings, still no update.

In the Guide tab I have the Days to Display set to 3 days, and the Update Interval set to 705 Min. In the Stalker Client addon, I have the Guide preference set to XMLTV Only, Cache Guide Data enabled, the Cache time set to 48 hrs, Scope set to Remote URL and the Remote URL set to hxxp:/yahyabell.com (note: the 2 xx's in hxxp are actually tt).

Is this happening to everyone or is there something that I am doing wrong here?
