I have an M8 S andriod tv box but can't get it to connect to my surround sound amp via optical cable. Optical works with tv so cable is good. Any ideas?

if you are looking for 5.1 from iptv on that box, they only stream in 2.0. However, if you are looking for 5.1 etc from apps like exodus, SALTS etc the only good place I found for those streams is one called realdebrid. It is a pay service to access their streams. This will need to be added within exodus etc under accounts section. You will also need to go to system/settings/system/audio output, then set
number of channels to 2.0 (not 5.1) then enable audio passthrough, then ac3 capable receiver, enable Dolby digital and dts. If your receiver is dts. This will in turn change AAC to ac3 5.1. Good luck
