Epg working fine on friends box

On my box Out of 173 English channels 5-10 show the guide i called the guy i bought it from he said im on the gold server never read anything about that server .. Our boxes look different in settings.. His says on demand where mine says videoclub he has a radio option as well.. How do I find out what server im on ? Should I update the software provider said don't touch anything
