I have PC that I am using with KODI on Windows and works fine with IPTV stalker plugin. It is just hassle to wait upon startup for Windows to boot up and then additional time to start KODI.
I read on here about the STB emulator but seems that will support only android devices or android emulator on top of PC. Does anyone tried to install it on Linux or android x86?
Would that be faster to load when its start up compare to Windows and KODI?

I know that's an option again this will involve Windows OS to start that's robust. Is there a way to emulate stb without and if would that be faster with good user experience if connected to TV?

the only thing I can think of is a set top box like mxq mlll mag boxes or something along those lines /..then it's hooked to tv turn on and go
if that helps at all and linux and android you still wait for boot

Aren't these boxes based on some Linux distribution with some stb software? Ubuntu starts up almost instantly with SSD drive in the PC. I have couple of the CoreI3's with SSD and 4GB RAM with WIndows10. I can format and install Linux if that's supports the stb?

I think you can do a virtual android machine on a PC, but Bluestacks and Andy do that for you. They can't play VODs though with the STB Emu. I haven't seen anyone post that has not used a android emulator on a PC for that purpose. The MAGs are on a customized Linux OS, but no one has reported being able to repurpose the box, or get the code for it. Also, there is no STB Emu for linux, at least in public.

There is an emulator for Linux https://github.com/mvasilchuk/yasem (it's also my project).

If you want to build it for Linux disable QtAV player (read https://github.com/mvasilchuk/yasem#how-to-compile), because I haven't updated it in a while and you may get some errors while building it.

Install these Qt modules.
I'm not a Ubuntu user, but I think it's qtmultimedia package.
