I have a cx919-II with kodi 16 installed.
The channels in the American feed have choppy pictures... Not buffering just dropping frames. Cnn, ESPN , etc
The English channels and feeds from other addons look great. Itv,exodus etc

I pressed O during the video
You can see the number of dropped frames climb.
From what I can tell the American channels use the h264 main codec.
The English feeds use h264 constrained baseline

Is there anything I can do or install that would keep the American channels from dropping frames?

No one has trouble with this codec?
Could it be my stick?...I don't have trouble with any other channels or streams.

So its just certain channels that do this? Have your tried changing the video player? Also I assume you are trying to run the box at 1080P try bringing it down to 720P on the box see if that max a difference.

POD77 It is a stick not a box unit... Should operate in principle the same way as a fire stick I'm surprised taking hardware acceleration off made it worse.

It's set to 720p
How do I change the video player.... I believe it's using the default DVD player

Have you found the solution? I have exactly the same problem on my Nexus Player and I tried everything, including advanced settings and external players file. Nothing helped. Only partial solution was to disable hardware acceleration. The stuttering on USA live TV channels would stop, but when I do that any HD movie would start stuttering badly, and live TV channels would look slightly grainy, but smooth. I'm still looking for a possible solution but most likely I'll have to order a new Android box.

I had to just give in and get a mag254 at the end of the year myself....video is pretty awesome compared to kodi and stuttering buffering dropped dramatically

Have you bought the codecs from raspberry pi? That can cause chopping / dropped frames with the US streams.
