Your vpn is only on your computer, unless you have set it via your router, which i doubt you have

What you will want to do is get another router that you can load like WRT or Tomato. Set this up as your VPN router. Once setup and connected then you would simply configure the router information in the Fire TV for the VPN Router. If you only want certain traffic to go through the VPN then you have to setup your internet router with static routes to route specific IP address range through the VPN router. This is how I have my system setup.

The issue I found is that Kodi will not allow you use local network stuff if your using the VPN in Kodi. For me that would not work as I use a MySQL server for the Kodi Database so that all my Kodi installations use the same database. I also have a central location for all my thumbnails and some other files that I want to share with all the Kodi installations. I only route certain IP Address ranges through the VPN router mostly for region locked content.

I still didn't get vpn on kodi. It seems that the firetv has to be rooted. Cant root mine due to software. Alucard i never done the 2 router bit. Wonder how that would work since my vpn has a rotating ip address. Do i have to keep manually changing it? Ill see if i can do this. I think this is what your saying.

get any router that you can install dd-wrt onto. then connect that router to your vpn.. any device you connect to that router will be using the vpn.

What you would need to do is setup the second router. You will need to put in on another subnet and disable the DHCP on the network side. For example if your current network was setup as 192.168.0.x where your routers gateway address is 192.168.0.1 then setup your VPN router as 192.168.1.x where your vpn router gateway address is 192.168.1.1. Setup the Internet connection on the VPN router to DHCP and loop the Internet port to one of the vpn routers network ports. Then connect one of the other network ports to your network. Make sure you have the wireless configured. Now connect the Fire TV to the VPN routers wireless connection.

Now if you just want to route NFPS traffic through the VPN, you can do the above but keep the Fire TV connected to your Internet Gateway. You will need to configure your Internet Gateway Router's LAN subnet from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0. This will prevent any 192.168.x.x IP addresses being routed out to the internet. Then you will need to setup a static route in the Internet Gateway router as follows. This will allow you to use the Fire TV using your normal internet and only NFPS will be sent through the VPN. If all is working you should be able to do a tracert to portal.iptvprivateserver.tv and you should see it pass through your VPN router.

    Destination IP: 31.220.0.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    Subnet: 255.255.0.0
    Metric: 1
    Interface: LAN

    My Trace Route:
    Tracing route to portal.iptvprivateserver.tv [31.220.41.127]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms MAIN-ROUTER [192.168.0.5] <---- This is my main internet router
2 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.71 <----- This is the VPN Routers WAN/Internet IP that was assigned DHCP by the Main Router
3 166 ms 341 ms 165 ms 82.145.51.126 <---- This is my internet IP at my drop point
    4 172 ms 168 ms 284 ms 78.129.156.1
    5 168 ms 166 ms 172 ms 87.117.211.41
    6 281 ms 207 ms 309 ms 593.core1.thn.as20860.net [62.233.127.173]
