How to get Infomir logo back

Did that. Trying again. Maybe I didn't let it run long enough. For giggles I just did the top. Took about 5 minutes then gave "wrong image" message. Then rebooted. Then I started it again and this time started both. The TV showed only the one ip addy, but packets were being sent from both top and bottom. Just going to let it run till the packet count matches the File size number the program shows. But it looks like it is going to take hours in my case. But Hey! Gotta learn sometime.

on the first line did you change 50 to 100? ( that's why 254 says anyway ) leave everything the same just change the 50 to 100. then on the second line change the 51 to 101. after i did that it loaded,rebooted and had the infomir logo back withing 5 to 10 minutes max.

you are using mcast to load this or at least that's what i assumed by reading your post.
just to refresh:
line:1 is for your bootstrap_254 224.50.0.(50):9000 here's where you change 50 to 100 in the ( )
line:2 is for your imagefile 224.50.0.(51):9001 here's where you change 51 to 101 in the ( )

this is where you change to your box ip address. you will see it after you start the upgrade tools and select mcast to load the file.

Did all that. It ran for three hours. TV showed that it was running, and the packet count was going. I quit after that long. Yes to using Mcast. No biggie as the box performs Ok. Thanks for the input. Have a safe Holiday weekend!

Mag 254 LOGO BACK: Hope it helps others
I struggled with this issue for days and finally fix my box Mag 254 LOGO missing by doing this:
FIRST STEP
1).DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE-- Download and extract from

choose Mag 254
"bootstrap_254" and "imageupdate_ul" then rename both of them to bootstrap and imageupdate respectively.
2).Place the both files (imageupdate and Bootstrap) into a folder called mag254 on your USB stick

SECOND STEP (BIOS) WIPE THE BOX:
PLUG IN POWER SUPPLY > HOLD MENU BUTTON
Enter The BIOS. > choose “Def. Settings” > press the right. If Message "Wrong message" pops up IGNORE;
Press “OK”.> Select “Exit & Save” to save and exit.
STB will reboot automatically.
message ´Tftp load ´ will be on screen. Now unplug POWER lead.

FINAL STEP: (BIOS) FLASH THE BOX
1) Plug the USB Stick in the REAR USB Port
2) Power the STB on - press and hold the MENU button (just above the volume up button - you have to be quick)
3) Go to Upgrade Tools, then USB bootstrap.

This will then flash the STB with all your portal settings, be patient. Proceed with normal set up.

I read so many other threads on this and could never get the logo back. Followed your step by step and it works perfect the 1st time. this should be a sticky.

this works only if you reset box to default factory setting. if you want to keep your setting you need MCAST metod from a PC same network as MAG BOX.

still get a "file mag254 imageupdate/ not present" not present message.... Running r-11. Followed the instructions to the letter.

Can someone please post a link for the r11 firmware I cant download it from the mag website all I get is a txt file. I have lost my logo and would like to restore.

I just left mine alone until they come up with a firmware update to address this issue
because you may encounter Another problem and have to factory reset again.
