What's the advantage to this over just using Notepad or Wordpad?

Wordpad doesn't save your work like Notepad does. In ,fact Wordpad will mess up your hard work in an instant

I use Notepad 90% of the time, but there are some play lists that have so much data that Notepad can't open it so I have to use Wordpad. Have had no issues with Wordpad. But I still wonder what the advantage is to downloading an unknown program to edit play lists when one can use Notepad/Wordpad.
