    Decrypted (2021)

Bitcoin was invented by an unknown entity using the name Satoshi Nakamoto and released as open-source software in 2009.

    Director: Tom Sands
    Writer: Mick Sands

This is the fifth film from father-son writer-director team Mick Sands and Tom Sands, and producer Phil Harris.

    Sophia Myles as Beth Barnes
    Kevin McNally as Colonel Pike
    David Hoflin as Buck Johnson
    Akie Kotabe as Satoshi Nakamoto

A dark comedy about a mismatched NSA team who kidnap the creator of Bitcoin (Satoshi Nakamoto), and attempt to torture him for the information they need to destroy crypto-currencies.
    -end c/p

For those that have taken an interest in bitcoin's origins they will know that there is no prove of Satoshi Nakamoto existence.
There was an entity named Satoshi Nakamoto who was seen on the internet and when he released the source-code in 2009 he was still seen online but only for a short time . Then the name completely disappeared from the internet and has never been heard from again.
Satoshi could be a Man or Woman or a Corporation or a Government Organization, could even be a 12 year old kid, but that would be unlikely.
Fact is that no one knows.
    There are rumors of course.
This film seems to ignore all that, all except the rumor that Nakamoto disappeared with over one million bitcoin, which multiply that by today's worth at $65,000 per coin

So for those that do not know or could not guess, this film is purely fictional and based on no truths.

And most importantly....This film sucked !
It's not funny at all. It is not dark, well it tries to be dark but fails on that front.
It does at times play upon things that can be considered 'dark' but they failed (you will see that word 'failed' alot in this review), and there does not seem like there is much of a story in this flic.
There is no nudity but there are sex scenes, which is offensive at best. It puts this movie into a category beyond what their intention may have been.
What ever their intention was, it failed

This one belongs in the Very Bad Category
    It's a Failure !

"The illusion of freedom will continue for as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will take down the scenery, move the tables and chairs out of the way, then they will pull back the curtains and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."
