TiViMate Can;t Record some channels - don't know why?

Hi all i am a novice to iptv.- and recently discovered tivimate.
I have tried to find online post solutions...but no success. I have a list of free and legal streams (these are all FTA in Australia such as channel 9 and channel 7), and as far as i know, not geoblocked. I use Tivimate on my Shield pro to watch these and the m3u8 streams all play fine. BUT some channels can be recorded and some can not be recorded.
I am at a loss, because all are the same m3u8 type.
I have read about ts files and hls (which i dont really understand about).
Can anyone give a bit of helpful advice...i mean do i have to change the format of the m3u8 to ts? Or something?
Fyi: ALL software is up to date also. No geoblocks and all streams are freely available. - Just Tivimate is not initiating the record.
    Appreciate any help

have you tried using different media player? change default media player in TiViMate app and see if that helps.
