    BuzzTV - Server Setups

I will be working with the 'BuzzTV Modern' Home screen during this experience.

You can follow this thru while viewing other Home screens, except some of the direction may be slightly different.

    To change Home screens...
Settings > BuzzTV Utilities > Home Screen

While viewing the 'Modern' Home screen we can see some shortcuts.
LiveTV and VOD are there side by side as well as TV Series.
If we enter one of these for the first time, we will be taken to the Server Settings menu.
So instead of doing that, scroll down on the Home screen and enter into the Server Settings menu found there on Home screen.
    Easy enough

There will be 3 connection options shown here.
    1. MAC Server
    2. XC api Login
    3. M3U

    1.
For the MAC Server, and with papiao services, we would attach the Buzz5 MAC address to your papiao code at their papiao website.
While the Server Settings option is open on the Buzz box, the MAC address is seen at the top right hand corner, shown as Server ID #
In the setup menu, there is also a box to check or leave un-checked, and this is for Credentials to be added to the server setup.
Your Credentials are your Username and Password (which would be the same 12 or 13 digit number with papiao services).
With papiao, you do not need to add the credentials, so leave the box unchecked.

Use the Home button on your RCU to return to the Home screen at any time.

    2.

With a XC API login connection, you will need to remove the MAC from your donation. This is also true for the m3u playlist method.
Then in the XC API slot, enter the Server URL and your username/password.
    Then Connect.

Use the Home button on your RCU to return to the Home screen at any time.

    3.

    Next is the M3U option.
Here we can enter the Server's Playlist URL
This is not the Server Portal URL, as used in the MAC Server setup.
This is an m3u Playlist URL which would be copied or pasted into the m3u URL line
Follow the link below to see how to get the Playlist URL or Playlist hardcopy, which is a .m3u file.
It describes how to for Rocket but nfps and iptv66 will be the same.
    http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?2...ocket-Playlist

There is a line to add an EPG URL as well.
You could create multiple Playlist slots with each having a different EPG URL
As an example here we have access to Shooty's and Acid's EPG data and also one from the service. So there could be 3 slots created and if one seems to be lagging in the EPG data, simply switch to another.. easy peasy

Total commander is a useful tool when it comes to copy and paste functions.
    http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?4...aste-functions

There is also a 'Choose File' option shown here too. That is to choose a hardcopy of the Playlist from a Storage Device.
The hardcopy would be an .m3u file.
This function does work as designed but need some improvemnet, which the Team is checking into.

If a MAC is attached to your code, it must first be removed in order for the m3u option to work.

Use the Home button on your RCU to return to the Home screen at any time.

I had noticed earlier that this 4900 was at it's original Buzz5 software version
    4.0.527 updated 02/19/21
To view the version information, open the Server Settings, then press the menu button. A side-bar menu should appear with the version shown at the bottom.

Since then there have been 2 updates (4.0.528 and 4.0.529)
    http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?4...ftware-Updates

So I opened that Sidebar menu and opened Settings > Check Updates.
But nothing happened. I waited a second and tried again but still nothing happened. Since there was a connection already setup, I opened that and then went to Menu again and side-bar again and tried again and this time the update started as soon as I clicked on the 'Check Updates' option.

This is also mentioned in the Release Notes and we are directed to try the Update after entering LiveTV.
Which is exactly how it worked here.

After the update was installed successfully and a few seconds later, an on-screen message popped up which acknowledged that a new update was installed and the newest version is shown there, the release notes are also shown there on-screen.

I am very pleased to announce that the BuzzTV team has fixed the issue with not able to load and use an .m3u file of a modified Playlist.
If you were to download a copy of the server's .m3u file, and load it onto a USB storage device and then insert that into the Buzz box and then enter M3U Playlist menu and seen there is an option to 'Choose File'.
So use that option and choose your file from the storage device. Next is to use the Connect option found there. It will connect and channels will appear.
BUT if I tried the exact same process with my edited .m3u files , it would not work and always give me an error message.

The guys over at BuzzTV Team went thru some testing with this procedure in the last 24 hours or so and I am very happy to say that they have fixed this so now my Edited Playlist copies work just fine on the BuzzTV 4900

I am told this fix will carry thru to all the 4000 and 4500 and E1 models as well, and along with a few other added features.

    Fantastic work BuzzTV Team!!
