NASCAR 2020 Playoff Contest

At the start of the season, I mentioned that there will be a special contest that will add points to the overall score. So this is how it will work.

1. After the August Daytona Race (Race 26), the Playoff Seedings will be set. As of the end of the Daytona road course race here are the standings.



2. Once the seedings are set, the contest entrys will be open. Here is how it will work. Pool members will get a chance to select who will win the overall Cup champion based on the standings. However, once the pick is made, no one else can pick the driver from the list. So first come, first served. If you take another driver later, your old pick will be available to pick. The selection period will end with Green Flag at Race 27.

3. If your driver wins the championship, you will get the number of points by this example schedule:




So say the #1 driver wins.. the person picking that driver will get 50 points added to the season total. If a longshot wins, say #16, that will get 400 points added to the season total. This would allow those at the bottom of the standings to catch up to the leaders with a hail mary pick.
