    5G will be the reason that autonomous cars will be able to perform properly.
    Without 5G then forget about cars that can drive themselves.

    Thnaks so you don't think they will operate with GPS ? They had better get better cell coverage for 5 G or their will be a lot of wrecks and deaths

    Yes, GPS is a big part of it, but that would be a partial auto system and still would need a driver behind the wheel.
    Tesla is promoting a full 'driver assist' system will be in place soon. But still not full auto where the driver seat can be empty.

    Here's a good article

    That's good information. I guess that I can look for better cell phone coverage and connections so... what about the the different 5G frequencies? They will have multi MHZ receivers?

    Some 5G frequencies overlap frequencies used by Weather satellite radars.
    The 5G network requires more cell towers due to smaller cell zone coverage.
    *Don't expect Rural coverage any time soon!
    5g is mainly to provide high bandwidth applications. (fast Movie loads, mobile gameplay etc.)

    Then there is the plan costs;
    Example of 4G plans;
    Mobile Internet data plans(no phone service)

    Up to 5 GB of data $60/mo.
    Up to 10 GB of data $75/mo.
    Up to 20 GB of data $90/mo.
    Up to 30 GB of data $110/mo.
    Up to 40 GB of data $130/mo.
    Up to 50 GB of data $150/mo.
    *Additional data over 50 GB is $3/GB.

    4G LTE Plan (Data and phone service)

    50 GB
    Non-shareable data at maximum speeds.
    *Beyond 50 GB, speeds are up to 512 Kbps, suitable for light web browsing, email and messaging.
    $125.00/mo

    I beleive a 50Gb 5G plan will run around $300.00/mo.
