Channel Availability and Resolution Question

I am experimenting with IPTV with the hope of replacing some setups I have.


Regardless I am looking for a particular USA channel TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and wonder if the channel anywhere is streamed in 1080i or 1080p. Most services I have seen only have 720p.


In the US with cable television, TCM is broadcasted in 1080i.


What determines a streamed channel's resolution and where might one fine 1080i/1080p versions of channels?


Is there by chance a way to verify the resolution of a channel without signing up for every service out there?
