My 3000 keep saying update d/l avaiable and once I click and starts the d/l and it finishes the almost 49 Mb d/l.....but then later on same msg comes on and repeats?!why is that?!

if you are connected via wifi then try to connect hard wire and see if that works

I am always hard wired and never use Wifi. but I am using vpn though...would that make a difference?

not sure but does not hurt to try without vpn. so try it may work and you never know it could be vpn
