into round 2 for Qualifying and Ryan Blaney sets a new track record for lap time.
He has only put in 2 hard laps up to this point (only took 1 lap at speed in each round so far), so he may even get faster in round 3

At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will take down the scenery, move the tables and chairs out of the way, then they will pull back the curtains and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

Chase Elliott will start up front at the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday after the 23-year-old won his first pole of the season.

As good as Elliott was, it was Ryan Blaney who had the fastest car for much of the day Friday as he set the track record in Round 2 with a 14.528-second run.

Blaney has been very good as of late finishing with three top-fives in his last four races and will once again be in good position to come away with a great placing.

    William Byron will start second.

The second round of qualifying was a bad one for some of the favorites this week as Kevin Harvick (13th), Kyle Larson (16), Kyle Busch (17) and Martin Truex Jr. (22) all failed to make it to the third round.

Kurt Busch, who is the defending champion at Bristol, had a tough day as a wiggle resulted in him failing to qualify for the second round. He will start 27th.
