i tried PP and was able to populate the categories. I think you are correct that I am not getting the playlist displayed in IPTV extreme. In PP I do not see anything to the right of the channel list. PP is much slower and picture is worse than IPTV extreme. in IPTV I can see what is on for the channel, so EPG works, but I do not have the category/groups displayed. will keep searching for an example of group setup.

By default PP Hides the EPG data. To see the EPG. if using a mouse, at the top of the left of screen Channel list, and on the right side of the Genre (All Channels, Entertainment etc) click the small square icon (submenu). Click EPG Show EPG.
If using a remote, with channel list showing, press menu (≡) on remote, or press and hold OK until the submenu appears, then select Show EPG.
*Same procedure is required to see the VOD Additional Info, when you switch to VOD, from IPTV.

the EPG is selected to be shown, but I still see nothing. should I use the kens13 xml file or sth else? this is in PP. is there some extra setting other than entering the playlist and the epg?

Easiest is use the settings template system(if you are computer savy)
    http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?4...-Template-File

Sounds like you are loading the m3u file, instead of logging in with XC.

Using m3u will load the complete TV/VOD playlist as TV channels (~12000 channels).
Using XC will set the VOD in separate playlist from TV (~900 channels)

You can use this for EPG1(select it as XMLTV format):
    Code:

    No.
*You could get the Provider to fix their EPG data to the proper format! ...LOL.

...or install Perfect Player as an alternate method.
