This is from Writer/Director ... Stephen Susco
Susco wrote the screenplay for the first The Grudge movie back in 2004 and then wrote the next Grudge sequel from start.
You may remember them, they were Horror films staring Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Based on the work of Japanese writer/film maker, Takashi Shimizu.

This 2018 movie, The Unfriended: Dark Web, Stephen Susco both wrote and directed.

"A teen comes into possession of a new laptop and soon discovers that the previous owner is not only watching him, but will also do anything to get it back"

This movie should give you a scare. It is predictable as you will see, and how can it not be given the storyline, but even with that, it will give you a scare. Maybe because the movie allows a glimpse of the dark side and how malicious hackers can access all things connected to the web and play upon their victims (the movie may take liberties with that, but it still is done well enough to set that fear into us).

All in all, I give Stephen Susco top credit for this film.
It did bring out a more then just a couple emotions from me and that is what a movie should do.
