    Post DHCP Error

    Can I help figure out what this message means and fix it?
    DHCP Error when booting the Box.
    DHCP Error Retry# 1

    Since you did not include to tell us what box???, I can only explain the Error.
    DHCP is used for Dynamic IP # assignment.
    If box is set to DHCP (Which it should be), the Router will assign it an IP# when you connect.
    This, of course requires your Router to be set as a DHCP source.

    The other method is Static IP assignment, where you assign an IP to every device connected to the router, and you enter those IP#'s into the Router according to the port each device is connected to.

    So check your device is set to DHCP and your Router is also.

    If they aren't, set them, and reset your router, then reboot your devices.

    I use static and have never had to enter them into my router

    Thanks for your quick advise and I will try that tonight. Also, the Box is MAG254 w2 it was working perfect until I went to the Bios and select DHCP FACTORY DEFAULT
