The X-FTA wireless router was used with satellite receivers like the Viewsat VS2000 Ultra
Now that that satellite receiver does not function, I am wondering what other uses can this X-FTA router can be put to

You can use the router as a wireless bridge for your blu-ray player or xbox and connect up to 5 devices at once to the router with almost no configuration.

I thought it can also function as a regular wireless router if you know how to program it.
I read also it can function as an access point and repeater
Could you explain the last two, and could it be programmed to function as a regular wireless router? You see, I don't want to dump it when it has other uses.
