    Mary Shelly (2017)

    Director: Haifaa Al-Mansour
    Writers: Emma Jensen, Haifaa Al-Mansour
Stars: Elle Fanning, Maisie Williams, Ben Hardy

Reading the book and watching the movie are two different things, as we all know.
The original Boris Karlof Hollywood version may leave one never knowing what was behind the meaning to Mary's work.
If that is the case with anyone, then this is a must watch movie.
There have been liberties taken in this movie, but overall it does stay on the history of it all pretty fairly.
I have read the book a couple times, many years ago. You get a better sense of where the author is coming from when you read a book, but I gotta say that this 2017 Mary Shelly movie puts pieces together I never fathomed before about the author (even with the liberties taken)

    Frankenstein: A Modern Prometheus (1818)
Written by Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin (Mary Shelly) the 18-year-old wife of celebrated poet Percy Shelley.
A Modern Prometheus (Frankenstein) was the product of a restlessly creative mind, emotional turbulence and stifling Georgian social pressures.

    Mary Shelly (2017)
The love affair between poet Percy Shelley and 18 year old Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, which resulted in Mary Shelley writing Frankenstein.

"The illusion of freedom will continue for as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will take down the scenery, move the tables and chairs out of the way, then they will pull back the curtains and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."
