Nascar Paint Schemes thru the years

In 2001, one of the most exciting promotional experiences in NASCAR history was held for the first time at Richmond International Raceway in Virginia.

    Monte Carlo 400
    Looney Tunes & Chevrolet Shootout

'The association between Chevrolet and Warner Bros enables Team Monte Carlo to call on experienced team member (the Tasmanian Devil and his Looney Tunes friends) to help the seven Team Monte Carlo drivers find the attitude needed to win what is sure to be a wild race'.

Chevrolet and Warner Bros sponsored this promotion and was mostly a treat for die cast collectors, but what a weekend for the fans too.
Only the Monte Carlo cars had this scheme.

    Monte Carlo 400

    2001 NASCAR Winston Cup Race
    #1-Steve Park, Sylvester and Tweety
#5-Terry Labonte, Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner
#24-Jeff Gordon, Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd
    #29-Kevin Harvick, Tasmanian Devil (Taz)
    #30-Jeff Green, Daffy Duck
    #31-Mike Skinner, Yosemite Sam
#55-Bobby Hamilton, Marvin the Martian and his space dog, K-9

    2001 NASCAR Busch Race
    #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr, Tasmanian Devil
There was one other Looney Tunes car in this race, but I do not remember who and a quick search came up empty

    Monte Carlo 400 Rematch
    2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Race
    #24-Jeff Gordon, Bugs Bunny
    #29-Kevin Harvick, Tasmanian Devil
    #30-Jeff Green, Daffy Duck
#55-Bobby Hamilton, Marvin The Martian and K9
    #31-Robby Gordon, Pepe Le Pew
    #4-Mike Skinner, Yosemite Sam
    #5-Terry Labonte, Road Runner
    #48-Jimmie Johnson, Tweety & Sylvester
    #25-Joe Nemechek, Speedy Gonzales

    2002 NASCAR Busch Race
    #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr., Gossamer/Bugs Bunny
    #12-Kerry Earnhardt, Yosemite Same

    Some nice looking cars

Dale Sr also has a LooneyTunes car, but it is from before and not part of the Monte Carlo 400 Looney-Tune/Chevy Shootout races.
Dale Earnhardt Sr #3 TAZ / LOONEY TUNES (2000)

"The illusion of freedom will continue for as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will take down the scenery, move the tables and chairs out of the way, then they will pull back the curtains and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

Jeff Gordon mainly showed the DuPont scheme in different forms, on his Chevrolet thru out his racing career.

Jeff ran some other car schemes too.
The 'Drive to End Hunger' Foundation car and the Axalta car were a couple.

Jeff also was known as one of the few drivers to have only one number thru out his carrer .. the #24
But that is not quite true. Anyone know what other number Jeff drove under ? It was not a Chevy either.

His Rookie year, he drove the #1 Baby Ruth Ford Thunderbird.
Captain has this car as an authentic 1/24 scale nascar die-cast

The #1 car also had another sponsor scheme that same year, sponsored by Carolina Ford.

I think my favorite Jeff Gordon car scheme was the 2013 Monto SS Pepsi Max painted base Flat Black or Satin Black.
I could not find a pic of this one in the flat black color, found lots in shiny black, but they just are not the same.
    It's a sweet car

Kevin Harvick joined up with Childress in his Rookie year.
Plan was to have Harvick drive the #30 car along side then to be team-mate, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Upon Dale's death thou, plans were changed.
His first Cup race was just shortly after Dale's passing and in the #29 Goodwrench car
Previously the # 3 car of Dale's was Goodwrench's main sponsored car. It was always Black.. while Harvick stepped into a White Goodwrench car for his first time, perhaps as homage paid

Harvick also ran the #29 Penzoil car.
This car was the first to be won in one of our pools. It was HotDog (aka Koolkat) , our dear lost friend who won this car.

Maybe one of my favorites ..the #4 Freaky Fast Jimmy Johns car

Richard Petty in the #43 STP car... who does not know this car ?

It seemed that no one could beat the #43 STB Dodge.

Petty did drive a Pontiac and a Ford under his #43 too, but mostly was the Dodge/Plymouth.

And also drove without STP painted on his car.

Here is Petty and one of his 1/4 mule cars

Petty's final Cup race was with this car.... the #43 Pontiac (1992)

Aric Almoirola #43 STP -2014 Ford Fusion drove for the Petty team.
    Orziz won this diecast

Bubba Wallace will drive the #43 STP car in 2018

He formerly drove the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in 23 full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series seasons between 1993 and 2015, and served as a substitute driver for Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in select races during the 2016 season.

In 2007, Gordon competed in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona for the first time. He raced the No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac-Riley for Wayne Taylor Racing.
