THE game might be Villanova / Kansas. Should be interesting, potentially rivaling the Duke / Kansas battle.

Well, Michigan had no problem with Loyola-Chi -- in the second half, that is. Villanova had no problem with Kansas for the entire game. That was a bit suprising. I thought Villanova would win, but I thought Kansas would be a more formidable opponent.

I expect Villanova will have a fairly easy time with Michigan this Monday night in the Championship Game.

Pretty much... Loyola had a chance, then got sloppy, and Michigan clamped down. The other game was over in the first 10 minutes. Nova might win big, but who knows.

How did the “Big Dance” name come about? Marquette’s basketball coach Al McGuire wore a bright blue blazer during much of the 1977 season. A reporter asked him if he’d wear it during the NCAA tournament as well, and the coach replied, “Absolutely. You gotta wear the blue blazer when you go to the big dance.” Marquette won the NCAA championship that year and the “Big Dance” name caught on with many.
