not sure what you mean by firmware 17.1 i know you needed android 5.0 or better to run kodi 17.1

If you have no reason to upgrade KODI and/or you use Kodi as your main Entertainment access, do not upgrade Kodi with Kodi Nightly's, Beta's, Alpha's or Release Candidates. (unless you like to debug stuff!!!)
Always use the latest approved release for your Platform.

Aug 1, 2018, Kodi Leia Alpha 3 is now released. It still is "NOT" final release. Very little improvements. Not recommended for 3rd party apps. Still a work in progress. Just wait for the final release. andkaal
