I am in the uk which have a higher voltage 230v. Does mag 254 accommodate this voltage or I need to reduce it

Cheaper to buy an adapter with the proper receptacle prong style.
*Make sure the DC connector, is the proper inside/ outside diameter.

I have a adapter but I was wondering if the box can just be plug straight into 230 v

The wall plugs are normally very different but, no, you can't plug a 120 into a 230. It will blow it up.

The MAG 254 is dual voltage, i.e. 110/240. All you would need is an adapter that will convert the end to plug into your power input.
