friend has a t6 and would like to know how to set up the static ip address, he is using a crossover network cable,thought he had it but cannot figure how to enter the (dot) using his remote

Any changes on the server will be picked up using dhcp static will not.

thanks for the reply,he claims on his old dreamlink h/d if server goes down ,sometime's a reboot is needed

Then if set to dhcp any changes that may have been made to the server will be picked up with that reboot
