Kens has decent instructions for getting Couch Potato TV and the IPTV Simple client working in tandem. The only thing I'll add is if IPTV Simple client doesn't load, click the m3u server START button on the IPTV Simple client dialogue inside Couch Potato TV.

Work through the directions slowly and you will get things working. Guide selection and activation is available from the IPTV Simple client dialogue as well.

Is there anything I have to change to get the channels to work in Potato? I could only get maybe 5 at the most to play. All the rest do nothing. If I load Xtream-codes it plays 98% of the channels. I like the look of Potato and the PVR functionality so I would like to us it if we can figure out why it wont play channels.

PLEASE READ THIS !


with the new system applied, now there are 2 types of account availabe with stalker's portal

1. DONATION based :
this account will use the same donation # as both user's ID & PASSWORD to generate a direct link for the streaming

2. MAC & DONATION based :
this account will only use the donation # as the user's ID
you don't have to change your MAC to null
and the stalker portal will automaticaly generate a different PASSWORD based on the token's session,
and it requires a valid MAC to generate the session's token

for example:

the direct link for the HBO EAST:

http://USER_PORTAL/live/USER_ID/USER_PASSWORD/301.ts

your donation #: 123456ABCDEF
your portal: p1.iptvprivateserver.tv:80

if you have a DONATION based acc., the link will become:

http://p1.iptvprivateserver.tv:80/live/123456ABCDEF/123456ABCDEF/301.ts

but if you have a MAC based acc:
you need any app which can comunicate with the stalker portal to perform a handshake action
it requires a valid DONATION # and MAC
if your account is legit, the portal will generate a fresh token and also the user password (based on the token)

for example:
your new token: C1D47E54A666D0365E51A55C64BC1C7F
your new password: WHjl6e2VBJ

thus, the direct link will become:

http://p1.iptvprivateserver.tv:80/live/123456ABCDEF/WHjl6e2VBJ/301.ts

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

Each generated token will always has their specific expiry time (it won't last forever.. only valid for few minutes/hours)

So, this is the feature/function performed by any app like my addon:

1. automatically detect which type of account you are using
2. generate a proper user's ID (donation #) and also a proper user's PASSWORD
(donation based: donation # ...or... MAC based: token based password)


but of course, the addon still need a liile help from you
you have to make sure that your account is VALID & LEGIT


you have to decide which type account you want to use
is it DONATION based ? or MAC based ?

if DONATION based:

you don't have to have a valid MAC (any MAC will be ignored / become null)

but you have to make sure, your account IS REALLY A DONATION Based !!!

try to browse the url below:

http://YOUR_PORTAL/get.php?username=YOUR_DONATION&password=YOUR_DONATION&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

if the browser is able to redirect you to download an M3U playlist, thus your account is valid as a DONATION based

but...

if it fails:

you have to repeat the IPTV RESET at papiao website:

ONE THING YOU HAVE TO KNOW:

in some cases, after doing the IPTV RESET at papiao website
YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT for several minutes/hours to get the new reset'ed account be activated


COMMON CASES

If you are sure that you've already reset your account and you have set the MAC to nul (00:00:00:00:00:00)
and weirdly...
you are not able to download a proper M3U playslist based on your donation #
or..
the playlist can be downloaded, but only few channels can be opened / watched

it means:
the stalker portal IS NOT ABLE to recognize / detect your account as a valid DONATION based account
the stalker poltar will still require a valid MAC to create a proper password... although you have nulled the MAC

THUS...
YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES/HOURS to get your new account be activated


If you DON'T WANT TO MESS UP with that issue:

you can keep your account as a MAC & DONATION based one
thus, you're still have your valid donation # & MAC which will be instantly detected by the stalker portal as a valid account

I got some progress tonight. For the past few days, i was stuck on not being able to load channels bc of portal 2, so i reconfigured everything to portal 2, even though I thought it auto redirects to p1, but now everything works!! yay the epg even works but doesn't show up in colors and the time span is not correct but who cares enough tinkering on my end. im gonna hibernate on these forums now lol maybe fix the time issue before im fully satisfied

The EPG populates but time is off

Did you ever resolve this? Not on pc so can't just edit files manually that easily.

I see that we're +2 hours ahead of the accurate epg listings, so i shifted the time by -2, by using different cities in the couch app's time zone and it doesn't even shift in the epg listings. Even on the simple client yet no changes. So frustrating, I'm also on EST.

Edit 2 = I FIXED MY ISSUE! So basically I switched the city in the couch app but I think that pointless, so skip that step, but here's what you do...

DISABLE IPTV SIMPLE CLIENT, go into that app's configuration, change the time shift to say 0, NOT -4, apply to all channels selected, cache in local storage DISABLED, and then press ok to leave the screen. DO NOT ENABLE THE SIMPLE CLIENT PVR YET!! Go to the system's setting into Live TV/PVR screen, erase TV data and EPG GUiDE data, do it few times, and then press OK to leave the screen. REBOOT your system. Again, go into system's settings to again clear out EPG Data and Live TV data, press oK after you do this to leave the screen. Navigate into PVR Simple Client, go into the configurations again, and check to see if it's still on 0 time shift offset and make sure APPLY to all channels is selected and the same with Cache settings, basically checking that what you did earlier still stands and wasn't changed. If everything checks out like you did in previous steps, finally ENABLE PVR Simple Client and voila accurate EPG time listings. I'm also on EST so I hope it works for you and everybody else!
