thanks for your feedback
after performing some testings, I finally got the similar issue like yours (maybe?)
and it happened when I tried to watch the iptv with the same account (MAC based @ p1.iptvprivateserver.tv)
using 2 different devices (andro tv box & tablet)
with the 1st device (tv box), I didn't get any issues at all
but when I tried to open a channel with the same account on the 2nd device (tablet),
the kodi refused to open it and played the pattern color test instead
after doing some researches, I knew where the bug might be and I also got the solution
the culprits were:
- the first token generated by the 1st device (tv box)
- the cache being used by the 2nd device (tablet)
the validation time of the cache file on the 2nd device has not been expired
since it's still valid, the 2nd device won't generate a new token and it choose to use the previous one (stored in the tablet)
although a new token has been changed which was generated by the 1st device (tv box)
the recommended solution:
1. you could try to clear the caches & create a new token thru' the potato addon on the 2nd device
and here's the complete steps:
2. you could also try to change the value of the validation / expiry time of the caches to its minimum one (in hours)
- open your o/s file manager
- goto "userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV/" directory
- find the "cache_expired.json" ("userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV/cache_expired.json") and open it
- change any number values of cache that you want to fix it
you could use mine as the reference:
Code:https://www.dropbox.com/s/er8gn80823b1rsb/cache_expired.json?raw=true
OR ...
you could also just delete the file ("userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV/cache_expired.json")
don't worry, the addon will directly generate a new one
fyi, the next release of the addon will include a new tweak setting for caches' validation time

if I read any comments like "Too much tech information"

I can't wait to suck their blood! LMFAO
Hey couch, can you make your modified videodevil to run independently (or not do a mac check) from Potato TV?
Through the PotatoTV Video addon, selecting IPTV, and a channel, if the channel is down, you will get the test pattern.
Accessing IPTV the proper way, through the TV Icon (PVR IPTV Simple Client), the same channel will attempt will give you the "Working..." message for about 1 second, then stops and returns you to the guide.
Just FYI
/kens
I just reactivated my box today and I'm on the s2.iptv66 server.
The EPG is way off for most of the channels, some EPG data is so off that the show that's on isn't even part of the guide data.
Some just is off by a few hours. I set up the PTV addon exactly the way it's supposed to. The EPG is set to viper as well as my -4 time zone (NY with DST).
I was reading somewhere that the epg for S2.iptv66 isn't correct but the s1 server is. I tried to update my settings to use s1 but got an error from the server when doing so.
I get the "Ther's an error trying to update this Route." message when trying to do it.
Not sure why it is doing this.
yep! you're right
since v1.7.x, I've added a new function to play a tv test pattern (I call it as the no-signal video)
the addon will play the pattern video when it gets http response: 40x (400-404)Code:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8D17-8A30trTGwzN25ldzNZMkU/view
Code:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes
the function will also be supposed to work automatically with the pvr
when the pvr gets http response: 40x (400-404)
have you tried to change the EPG Time Shift under the potato setings?
for NY time
you could try:Code:https://greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/new-york/
- timezone = America / New York
- time shift = -01:00
(or you could try any value between range: -01:00 and +01:00)
then follow these steps:
FYI:
"+" (plus) and "-" (minus) in EPG Time Shift work like the accelerator & the brake for your car
if your epg is 1 hour too early (faster) then epg time shift = -01:00 (brake)
if your epg is 1 hour too late (slower) then epg time shift = +01:00 (accelerator)
DISCLAIMER
Any errors related to the contents provided either by the stalker (improper tv channels) or by the epg server (improper programmes)
are beyond my control!
I only provide the iptv client which helps you to communicate with the providers (stalker & epg)

Mr. Potato, first thank you for the guide and constant updates. Just Awesome Tool! Been using it since its inception to the masses. Never any major issues, but last couple of days I seem to be missing guide info on some of the UK channels, especially the first 20-25 channels. Have cleared and reset several times no luck. Any thought or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again Champ
yep! you're right mate
if you're using the viper8690 as your EPG source,
you won't get the guide for the UKTV
the issue is on the EPG server (viper8690)
currently the server fails to pull the data for the UKTV EPG (temporarily?)
you can check it by yourself
open this url
search for any UK channelsCode:https://raw.githubusercontent.com/viper8690/epg/master/guide.xml
e.g. ">ITV" or >SKY" ---> all queries must be started with the ">" sign
then the search will temporarily find nothing
but you can still choose PACh for the alternative EPG source with no major issues
it's still able to pull the UKTV (of course including the USTV + foreign channels)
Moved over to PACh as suggested, and that will certainly work! Thank you
