MAG 256 or 257? The 257 is a locked down version of the 256 and is primarily used by IPTV companies. Otherwise the 256 should work with the IPTV provider of your choice.

Don't buy the 257. It only works with providers using closed source Verimatrix

This is from Infomir website:
"MAG257 is a closed platform that does not allow image modification. It has integrated Verimatrix content security solution and is meant for operators that already use Verimatrix."

Don't buy the 257 unless your IPTV provider REQUIRES Verimatrix. The 257 is not newer than the 256. Same box. 256 is open, 257 is Verimatrix ONLY.

257 will not work with the IPTV services supported on this forum.
