    cell phone companies are crooks

Metro pcs didnt want to give me the alcatel unlock sim code,
for anyone in simillar position trying to unlock the network lock on your phone
to let you use phone on other carriers ,

dont bother with the carrier ,

if your phones network unlockable ,

go on ebay , theres people on there who have the software to generate specific imei code for your phone,

then call back the phones carrier and tell them you got the code , and to #uck off !

These phone companies are the biggest crooks !

Not to defend the cell phone companies... and yes they are crooks... the phones are heavily subsidized by them, so they do have a reason not to unlock their phones for you to use on someone else's network. New unlocked smart phones are usually pretty expensive. The cell phone companies are looser on their restrictions for older phones, for example Sprint allows release after a year after initial sale.

there was a law passed in 2015 that requires providers to unlock phones of which their contracts have been paid off. unfortunately there are still reports of comsumers having difficulty getting them to comply. $2 on ebay might be the easier way to go.

Really we here in my country don't have such things as network locked phones and mostly that you need to go to carrier and get it from there
and it's bigger trouble than buying phone from the shop and putting already sim in. I really don't buy phones trough carriers, as their price is higher
also than internet shops, where you can get the same phone for 100-200$ cheaper. It's really business and they want to make money!

I didn't really use any cell phone companies, as my country is full with free Wifi hotspots and it isn't problem to use application to call somebody.
Maybe it's different story for those who live in country side!
