Mac address

I want to change my mac address. I have bell but also have a internet box. When I change my mac address it says it should begin with 00:1a:78. But my internet box begins with 6c:2f. I can change it but I get a message that says update not accepted.any help would be appreciated

Unless you are using a dedicated device like an AVOV or Mag (your modem or router doesn't matter), you can create your own MAC address It should start with 00:1A:78 and the final 6 alphanumerics are selected from A-F and 0-9.

But my internet box begins with 6c:2f. you dont use that
