    VPN does it make a difference

    Just wondering if a VPN makes a difference for iptv mine has been freezing a lot in the evening .

    It might. If the buffering is due to throttling or route congestion, you might see a difference. There are free flavors out there to try.

    i woudnt bother ..this wont take care of your issue..vpns are only really effective to use for geo blocked issues in fact its more likely your connection will be slowed down rather than speed up - check settings and sometimes a hard boot your router helps establish a new (better) connection to server assuming that is the only problem... im on rocket server and not seen any buffering for a long while ..then again i upgraded my streamer and have a 30/5 cable plan with my isp, THAT can make loads of difference...need more info if i could be of more assistance, cheers

    Well, you're wrong. Many people have had success with VPNs. It doesn't work for everyone, but if the ISP is throttling, which many are doing, or if there are routing issues, the VPN can circumvent those issues.

    Testing with a VPN is free and it can be done in a matter of minutes. Upgrading a service plan as you suggest takes money and time. I'd choose a VPN test first.

    funny though..you been around a while looks like and youd rather help peeps with vpns and yet my question goes unanswered on the mac..which in my mind is just as important? sheesh

    I only have a 7 mbps plan .the first year with rocket it was pretty decent. I renewed for another and it has not been good with 240 days left.I do speed tests morning and evening .speed stays the same.not sure what to do.rebooted router and box.
