change remote default IR code?

Hi...
The default remote code for my AVOV VIXO 1 is the same code that responds to my Samsung LCD TV. Every time I turn on the TV it turns on the AVOV. Can this default IR code be changed so it won't be intercepted by the TV? Apparently Samsung support says there is no way to change the factory IR code with the standard remote. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping for a possible solution but guessing the same physical limits as the Samsung TV.. no option to switch IR. Guess I'll have to use a manual flap to cover the sensor when not in use.
