"The illusion of freedom will continue for as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will take down the scenery, move the tables and chairs out of the way, then they will pull back the curtains and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

Thorens turntable with Ortofon cartridge, Urei preamp, Bryston 4B and a pair of Klipschorns is my combo. Last LP I listened to was "So" by Peter Gabriel. "Luvs the vinyl"
Aerius I speakers and lots of old great stuff you never heard of.
These days I mostly stream my music from my digitized audio collection.

If you don't have a lot of money or extra room, here's one trick that I use.
I have an old Denon AV receiver that I use for my HT. I have some good old audio gear to run my music system. I put the preamp past my Denon and run the stereo speakers and subwoofer from my Denon through my good preamp. I connect all my good audio gear into the preamp for great stereo music and HT into the Denon.
If you do some homework, you can pickup some great old gear cheap.
