So far its too early to tell but I would assume that it would be the same channels that you are getting now. Why would you want it, well you can take your box anywhere and watch TV without having a Dish is one good reason and who knows, maybe at some point DN may be gone from IKS or when there is an ECM you have something that is working without ECM (Although I cant confirm that) but the best part is you don't need a Dish.

I like part two. A free library of shows we can get to anytime. Kind of like have a DVR for stuff we can't get.

IPTV should work anywhere, unless blocked by the ISP, or someone else.

IPTV uses up a lot of bandwidth and apparently its strongly suggested that anyone who intends on using it should have an unlimited bandwidth service. I've been informed that this isn't a problem in Ontario and Quebec but I'm unaware of any unlimited bandwidth internet providers where I am. The internet providers here market their services via speed as in 6mb, 15mb, 25mb, 50mb and 100mb which is the fastest and most expensive but it isn't unlimited. For those with similar restrictions, you might want to check on who can provide unlimited bandwidth BEFORE investing otherwise your internet provider may provide you with a huge bill with your exceeded bandwidth limits. This is meant as a precautionary to those considering buying and using an IPTV box and services.

That is true dead, you will be consuming bandwidth while watching anything through the stb. I once had a limited gb service and they would drop speeds any time I came close to my limit. So, if you're paying for how much you use, have a monthly cap on your download, or using dialup the switch may not be for you.

It's all part of the ever-evolving world around us- some day when any of us talk about fta receivers we'll be showing our age and no-one will know what we're talking about. It'll be known as the good old days- kinda like the BUD days or the card hacking "way back then".

Sooner or later, most of us boxed up or got rid of our outdated equipment. I still have a vcr and dvd player sitting in the top of my closet- keeping some of my old fta equipment company.

Exactly the same reliability as a 100% legitimate sub...
