VIDEO HARDWARE/CODEC issues with FIRE tv

does anyone have a hardware /codec solution for the fire tv gen 2 mpeg 2 stream problem,

no matter what player or even kodi settings i use, im not able to get accelerated fire tv hardware output, always only software.

the only that lets me somewhat do hardware acceleration is on stb emu with vlc settings to OpenGL hardware video decode.


this problem is annoying, and had i known it was across the board as a hardware issue with fire tv ,and not just kodi ,
i wouldn't have wasted 100 bucks for this stupid box they call fire tv.

seems to me, they made fire tv to only support streams playing from where they want, and screw everyone if they
want video streams elsewhere.

Did you open a bug report with Amazon? That would be a good place to start. The version 1 Fire TV does not have this issue and they finally fixed the audio pass through problem on the FTV 2. I am sure they will fix it if this is related to the software drivers.
