    Video re-size issue

    Hey guys,
I wanted to ask if anybody had issue with video re-sizing throughout a movie.

I have this issue quite often when using AVOV apps (Popcorn, VOD) and less frequently with Live TV channels. The best way to describe it is the video gets zoomed in at approximately 300-400% and as a result I can see only a fraction of the whole video displayed on the whole TV screen. In addition, the screen turns light blue, but I can still see the video through it, as if somebody put a light blue film on top of the TV screen. Both video and audio keep playing with no delay or buffering, but as you can read from above you can’t really enjoy a video which is played at a 300-400% zoom and looks blue.

It happens every 4-5 minutes on Live TV, but with AVOV apps (VOD, Popcorn) sometimes it happens every 1-2 minutes. If I don’t do anything the video corrects itself and goes back to normal within 20-25 seconds. However, if I press any of the buttons on the remote control (which bring up the control menu to pause, fast forward or stop the video), the video corrects itself immediately. It gets really annoying when you watch a movie on VOD and have to press buttons on the remote control every 2 minute to correct the picture.

Since both audio and video keep playing and don’t pause to buffer, I think it’s an issue with video re-sizing. Have you seen this issue before?

asft is saying the re-sizing is happening on your TV not your box
    Two of the greatest qualities
    to have in live are:

    PATIENCE
    and
    WISDOM

Hm, interesting point… My AVOV box is connected to the TV through the HDMI cable, so I thought the TV is simply outputting the picture and sound, and hence does not need to do any video processing which could result in constant re-sizing of the picture. My Panasonic has never had such re-sizing issues with any other devices that I connected to it through HDMI, but maybe the AVOV box works differently.

Do you know by any chance what could be done to solve this issue, or at least to reduce the impact of this re-sizing?

There must be some aspect settings on your tv like its having a hard time figuring out what setting/resolution it should stay on.

Or maybe it has to do with the HDMI cable. Hard to say.

I have the same issue with my MAG254.

On certain channels the aspect ratio changes on the tv from 720p (Where picture is perfect, to 1280p where picture is blue.)

Have tried every combination of settings on MAG as well as tv but it still changes automatically.
