Is there a way to get to the thumb drive through the network so it doesnt have to be ejected and carried to a different machine? If so, could you briefly describe the first few steps to get started? My computer is on the other side of the house and I would rather do everything over the network.
I do have access to the internal memory of the formuler over my network, but I dont see the thumb drive there.

I know it's a bit late but you can use UPnP, NAS (network storage) or SAMBA over the same network to share pics, videos between your pc and Formuler device.
I found troubleshooting about your question on Formuler helpdesk:
I tried UPnP using free program like universal media server, and it works fine too. Once finish setup, open Media center app > choose UPnP > Select shared storage (device) > find files to play
