I found out you can't on a ps4
I came with the same doubt. I asked crazed 2.0 about, but neither him know if could be possible. If you find more info please let me know. Take care!
The developers are working on Kodi on PS4 but they don’t seem to get anywhere with it. This is because the security measures in PlayStation are pretty tight.
Think the only way is using a Linux Kernel ..but as of now none are public.............................
