im not serving but I try to help here once in while so im I veteran??? yes, I am:)
happy veteran's day to me and all of us:)
Happy? ........
I consider Veterans Day as a day of celebration and thanks for the contributions of all veterans in service to their country, and is also the mark of the end of WW I.
Memorial Day is when we honor those who gave their lives for our country. It should be somber.
In the US it was originally Armistice Day but in 1954 President Eisenhower changed it to Veteran's Day. For a few years in the 70's it was moved to October but then moved back to November 11.
But that's Canada. And thank you for pointing out the difference. On Veterans Day we have parades in the USA. You usually don't have parades if it isn't a 'happy' day. We save our remembrance for Memorial Day
