Plot :

The Martian is a 2015 American science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon. The film is based on Andy Weir's 2011 novel The Martian, which was adapted into a screenplay by Drew Goddard. Damon stars as an astronaut who is incorrectly presumed dead and left behind on the planet Mars, and who then fights to survive.

Review: Very good movie, I would not compare this movie to the movie "gravity" even if they since they both are set in space, the storyline for this movie is more complex, the acting is first rate and the plot keeps you at the end of your seat. Very technical on physics and science which makes the movie more believable and enjoyable. Over all I would recommend watching this movie. Saw it on the new Avov TVOnline+ were even on cam the picture quality was good!

It's too long, I didn't read the book, but movie is too long. I really love anything about space, so I was happy when I heard about movie, but when i saw it...nothing special! But I must say that Matt Damon was amazing really, so I guess thats only plus from me.
I was disapointed, just like with Interstellar!

i like it so much, i love that cosmic things. plus, damon is so amazing and great, one of the greatest actors right now
Also supporting roles are pretty good too, but i dont think that this movie can be candidate for oscar. just my opinion.
but once again, amazing movie

"The Martian" is a fictional story, but is in some ways Apollo 13-redux. It starts with a gripping scene where, post-disaster, the hero is forced to operate on himself: gripping, yes, but also not a scene that needs to be set on Mars.
