Hi All,

New to the forum - please excuse the noob question (I have searched and can't find the answer)!

What is the main difference between Rocket and NFPS? I'm guessing the PS part of NFPS is Private Server...?

Im using NFPS on the Mag 250 and really, really impressed with it! Can anyone give me a quick list of differences (is it server side or just channels / languages etc?)

Thanks
D

The biggest difference visible to users is different support sites, and how the staff runs them. For IKS, they use a common shared key source but are based on different servers, so as channels go down there, you see the same on both services. As far as IPTV, since Rocket hasn't yet come out, as users we don't know for sure.

Thanks for the reply.

Ah - so NFPS is an IKS based service and is an older more established service...

Rocket is 'new' and based on Stalker (which is MAC address based)

I have a been playing with Stalker Middleware for about 6 months now as I wanted to know how it all works and hangs together and that was how I came to find this board.

Looking forward to seeing how things go over the next few months.

Well, not quite. I won't go to much into IKS, or what ever the business model that NFPS and Rocket uses, but suffice it to say they aren't very different. For IPTV, NFPS does use Stalker Middleware for its users to access their IPTV service. We can assume that Rocket will do the same, but nothing is for sure.

Cool- thanks dara, just geeky curiosity.
