hello,
I think we have to link a donation to a mac address to get iptv service from rocket.
I was just going to go purchase a donation and link my mac address to it. i use it mostly in kodi while working.
and then all of a sudden I see threads in the forum saying the service is down.
I was wondering should i wait for the service to get stable.
let me know

if your running iks with it yes but i all so think when they do go to mac it will be hard to get a donation so its really up to you its a 50 50 call

Why buy a donation now? All they are offering at the moment are IKS subs which will need to be upgraded in order to get iptv when they go live, at least that is my understanding.

i would say wait... why buy now and start the clock ticking when its currently free.. The way i understand is if you pay now.. in the future you will pay a prorated amount to upgrade your IKS donation to the dual one.. so you wiill only have whatever time remains on your IKS donation before you have to donate again... you will still pay the same in the long run.. but why jump the gun like that when there is no benefit to you whatsoever.

No I think you are wrong. Right now they are only charging $70/year but it is only good for IKS. Only if you activated an IKS sub prior to Jan 31 is it good for iptv. If you activated an IKS sub after Jan 31 then once iptv goes live it will not work for iptv unless you pay an additional fee.

simple choice, if you like the current lineup/service, get it and if you don't than wait for it to get real...

Those are the new prices that include iptv with iks but you cannot buy those donations yet as far as I can see. You can still only buy iks only donations which means that if you buy a donation now it will not work when iptv goes live unless you pay an additional amount.

That being the case why buy a donation now if all you want is iptv? Better to just wait and pay one time.

the price includes iks w/iptv...I personally don't think iks will last another year

Why not? iks has superior picture quality and you can record, plus it doesn't need so much Internet bandwidth and isn't effected by Internet congestion like iptv is. The only disadvantages of iks are the ecm's, locations where the signal is effected by the weather, and locations where it is not feasible to install a dish. I would say the two complement each other.

Won't that require that they replace all of their receivers first? That should take awhile.

What part about making a donation now for iks which is no good for iptv do you not understand? Rocket sent me an email that said only donations activated before Jan 31 will work for iptv once they go active. Any donations activated after Jan 31 will have to pay an additional fee in order to get iptv, MAC address or not. I haven't heard any different.

The question was if they should buy a donation now or wait until iptv goes live. My advice is to wait. Why? Because unless you are using it for iks you are paying for a service that you are not using and when the iptv goes live you will just have to pay again. Easier and cheaper to make one payment. And for a reseller it would be a nightmare because the additional payment is pro-rated and different for each customer. I don't know how they intend to manage it.

Now I am confused, I made already the donations to iks and linked my MAC address and currently using mag254, I made 3 donations, I got an email with some user id password for each donations, if what I am reading in this thread, it's means I would have to repay again! when they come alive? I guest Iam am iptv users since using rocket as portal.

if that is the case why they are pushing people to make the donations!

who is right?

yes you will need to pay again the iptv part which maybe 35 dollars per donation may be less i just dont know but you will be running when they change over others wont be
